Very insightful take on the convention indeed. I did not quite see it with how it still applies to the current society we are living in

I wrote a thesis on refugee treatment in Paris, and the problem is those high quality non biased judges are not in the majority in most developped states, thus, many people who face serious risks tend to be denied. And most refugees dont get the oppurtunity to express themselves correctly in front of judges because of lack of time accorded to them. So, either the software ( the definitions and agreements), or the hardware (the judges and court systems) should be reformed.

I am from Bangladesh. I came here because of the Refugee Crisis we will face because of the global sea-level rising in the future. It's already happening - the climate is getting worse and worse with each monsoon. We just being 10m above sea level, our country being flat, about 150 million+ people living around the coastal-delta region, and being the most densely populated country in the world with a growing population of 165 million people, we're are basically doomed when the water comes into our lands. And then its just a matter of time till people move and refugees are created. Oh, excuse me, immigrants I should say, since people won't have a home to go back to. And yes, the whole country is in risk of the sea-level rise, not just the coastal regions. Seeing how grim things are on the refugee side, our people might go to War with Myanmar (Burma) land for land space. Plus, being a country where people live in deadly poverty, with no real education or business knowledge, constantly fighting among themselves in the name of religion, and having political a corrupt institutions and leaders - doesn't help the situation. Its a sad fu*king commentary. I only recently found out about this and know that being a bitch won't solve anything, so I'll study and research about this and do the best I can. Thank you, to the person who shared this video. Also, tnx for reading this far. Have a nice day bros.

Mr. Hathaway. You are apparently on of the experts in Refugee laws yet you blabber blongne that refugees don't go on social assistance and aren't a burden to the country. In Canada Sir, we give:- Support services include: greeting at the airport, temporary housing, help with finding permanent housing, help with registering for mandatory federal and provincial programs, orientation to the community, a service that includes providing contacts for safety and emergency services, introducing refugees to the city where they have settled, explaining public transportation, Canada's education and health care systems, Canadian laws and customs, and the local climate, personal finance help in areas such as budgeting, setting up a bank account and using debit and credit cards, basic "life skills" support for high needs clients, and referrals to other refugee programs. I am uncertain if you are even appraised of the reality other than with UN (crooks of the world that gave us COVID WHO) said. I think you should read tabloids with facts, not just blabber crap out of your mouth. Sincerly, F

What he was saying was that the CONVENTION does not say you have to give charity to the refugees. Canada provides all those things by its free will (as a result of how the people of Canada have voted). The convention does not obligate the receiving state to do anything other than give the refugee the opportunity to earn a living for themselves.
