Ah, the Skinz. Not my favorite gang (that of course goes to the Smileys) but it feels so good getting rid of them. They have lots of interesting design choices going on with them. I remember during the game’s development, there was supposed to be a section where a few Hoods would fight the Skinz to try and find Cash. Also, a lot of the character models have small details that are meant to make fun of real life Neo Nazis. The main one I know about is one of them has a shirt that reads NPFO, which is a reference to the Dead Kennedy’s song “Nazi Punks Fuck Off”.

I think what stood out to me the most about this game is how each faction Cash had to go up against had it's own theme and style to it, Very unique and i loved experiencing each new faction for the time when i played through this, It reminds me of another game which is my favourite PS2 game ever out of all the PS2 games i love the most The Warriors will forever be my favourite PS2 game which i also really hope you do a playthrough on someday Pro! Fun Fact: Rockstar originally wanted to make a game about The Warriors. When they failed to obtain the license, they made Manhunt instead. When they finally obtained the license for The Warriors, they reused the code from Manhunt as a base.

So glad you're doing a playthrough of this game! Just remember if you're outnumbered even 2 to 1, RUN! Combat is kind of stiff and even in a 1v1 fight you win but lose a lot of health. There's also a Ryton Aide store in the first area of the first level for a GTA reference

Fun fact. Abraham Lincoln was trying to end the war even if it didn't end slavery. He constantly insisted it was to save the Union not free the slaves. It originally wasn't fighting to end slavery. It wasn't until a few years in that it became about ending slavery. As for the slaves in Confederacy uniform, they were offered their freedom if they fought for the Confederacy. But yeah it originally was about states rights due to the reach of the federal government, economic policy and practices, and yes one of them was about slavery but it wasn't the main reason why the civil war happened. It mainly was about the states not wanting the federal government to regulate what they do. It's sad but it's the facts. Edit: if you were a slave and you were caught in the north they would send you back to the south. The north wasn't completely against slavery.

“Iconic” I don’t think so. Even the development team was uncomfortable. It’s more of a niche “cult classic” than anything else, with the fans of Manhunt definitely being non-casual players, & actually having knowledge of a lot with the games. It’d be like the majority fans of RDR2 playing Red Dead Revolver; they’d think that the graphics & mechanics are goofy & cartoonish, probably call it boring too. Fans of GTA Online who like flashy cars & golden guns & fast shooting, trying to play this slow paced ugly looking game (& I’m not calling it ugly as an insult, because the setting of the game is gritty & literally dark).

That noise problem can be fixed by doing this reach to a checkpoint and save the game and yes when you reach to the checkpoint your able to save the game and once you saved the game quit it and then load the save files that you saved from the checkpoint this is what I did when there was the sound problem

There's a lot of irony that lies within the skinz lol. One of them a few shirts that the hunters wear, stuff like "First To Go" and more importantly "NPFO". These shirts are a callback to the Dead Kennedys and their song "N*zi Punks F*ck Off", a self-explanatory song that critiques the N*zis that kept going to their shows and causing up hassle. The Dead Kennedys in general were a punk band, and VERY anti-fascist. One of the models is a skinhead who wears boots with yellow laces. Yellow laces in the skinhead culture is an anti-racist symbol, in contrast to the white and red shoelaces that have more hateful origins.

I have to correct your comment about the black Confederates. There were a number of black free men in the Confederate states who were emancipated for one reason or another, some of whom owned slaves themselves and usually were considered to own members of their own family. There is no way they would have allowed slaves to be soldiers it would be far to risky. While it is true that for the majority of States the reason for joining the Confederacy was slavery, some states, at least in the case of Texas joined for geographical reasons.

It seems there's an audio loop bug. I recall there's a fix for it.
