That looks like a tough timing there. I like the drummer most. Nice to see how standards evolve in time. 👏🏿👏🏿

Another viewer said that it’s a Dominico Moffa Guitar. But I am not familiar with them.

@@insidejazzguitar8112 Moffa is a world-class Italian luthier. Kurt also has a Moffa archtop (beautiful instrument!) that he played on his "Standards Trio: Reflections" album. If you look up any of the videos of him playing with the HR Big Band, it's that guitar. Really cool to see that Moffa is trying new things and trying to meet Kurt in the world of solid bodies.

Let's de-construct ! .... great playing as expected but I'd still rather hear the original song. This sounds too much like a purely intellectual challenge as in : how can I make this complicated and HARD to play ? When I listen to Gary Burton's Quartet in the 70's , the Keith Jarrett records he made with Gabarek etc. they also pushed the boundaries and WROTE songs that are still hard to play

Why not let these wonderful young jazz musicians interpret the music they way they hear it !?
