James Franco has a good sense for things that are deep and profound, as evidenced by, amongst other things, his interest in Abramovic's work. I applaud that. But he seems to think that having such a sense automatically makes him a deep and profound person, or confers on him the ability to say and do deep and profound things. It so obviously (and rather painfully) does not. I'd applaud his artful interest more if he didn't go about pursuing them in such a Franco-esque fasion, i.e. pretentious and ridiculously self-absorbed. I mean, what a turd of an interview this is, with not one single interesting question asked. I can't help but think that if he was aware that he's too big for his britches, this conversation could actually have been an interesting one.
