Cautious optimism for Superman. The goofy elements are actually what makes me the most optimistic. Krypto looks like a fun dog right off the bat. Superhero movies either take themselves way too seriously or they seem embarrassed to be superhero movies. This one seems like it embraces what old-school comic books were all about. No benefit of the doubt from me, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this instead of writing it off like 99% of the other stuff Hollywood makes.

Beardo hit the trailer out of the park for me. I’ve been a Superman movie fan since 1978. This movie seems like it will be a Guardians of the Galaxy with Superman. Also Jeremy was also spot on with Henry Cavill (my second favorite Superman) not being a top box office draw.

I agree with Beardo 100%. I pointed out many of those same issues to my mom when we watched the trailer the other day. David C looks too soft to play Superman/Clark Kent and his acting ability is severely lacking from the clips/stills I've seen. A bright smile from him would have made a world of difference in this trailer. I hope I'm wrong about him, he seems nice. The costume is dreadful, though I'm glad the red trunks are back and the colors are brighter. I wanted there to be dynamic music with horns like in the OG Superman theme, the new one is just not giving off the upbeat emotions one should have with Superman on screen. The scene with him saving the child was impressive, but the power dynamics seems to restrained for Superman in the other scenes. And I hated the opening where he's injured right out of the gate. We need to see him at his most powerful throughout the first half of the film, so then when he's injured, we are invested, sad to see him weakened and cheer when he gets his strength to fight and win in the last act. However, Jeremy is right about this Pa Kent, he is not a convincing looking one. And he's right about Henry Cavill not being a box office draw (even though we all truly love the guy).

If you wanna be real and level David Corenswet is factually bigger and more muscular the Cavill as Superman David’s trainer posted a work out pick of him when they started shooting and he was bigger then Cavill. David is giant tho so packing on muscle was probably easy cause the dudes like 6”5. But if you wanna get really real David’s acting in shows like Hollywood and The Politician clear any acting of Cavill’s career it just does. I love MoS, BvS, and ZSJL but Cavill as Superman just didn’t strike with the audiences like it did with the fans. And then when THE ROCK and Cavill himself told you he was in Black Adam as Superman and it needed to succeed in order to see more people didn’t show up so Jeremy is right that Cavill just didn’t turn the needle could that have been cause of the mistreatment from WB and they waited too long 100% sure but that’s the way the chips fells.
