I love how Harden and his dumb defenders point out Morey lied......maybe he did.......but who in their right mind thought Harden was worth another max anyway? Mid 30s, no defense, doesnt even TRY, mostly chokes when it matters, horrible selfish attitude, and isnt as efficient as youd think. He wasnt worth a max at that point! Leads the league in assists and gives it all back on the other end!

Rockets fan here. I defended Harden and his effort and off-court activities for years because he was generally so brilliant. But in hindsight, I have to say, if you're trying to beat a team as good as the mid 2010 Warriors, you need to maximize everything you have. Partying during the season, not taking your conditioning seriously enough, those are the little details that are going to make it impossible to put yourself over the top. It's honestly amazing Harden is as good as he is (or has been) given what we know about how he spends his time away from basketball. I don't judge him for that as a person, in fact, I find it relatable and even impressive, but it is not a recipe for winning an NBA title, particularly as the number 1 guy.

Harden scored 45 pts and 42 pts in games 1 and 4 against Boston last year. Took over two games to win them. The MVP took over 1 game to win it, with 33 pts in game 5. If the MVP takes over another game maybe we're watching the Sixers in the ECF, which in my book is the definition of contention. Harden was also the league assist leaders last year. I'm not a Harden fan: he's toxic. But "marginal all star" can do it for you in two games against that Celtics team, maybe its not so bad. Anyway, probably won't work for the Clips because of age/health/only one ball.

He will be remembered as one of the greatest offensive players to ever play when he was at his peak and also as someone said, I forget who, the best to ever unlace them too. He's an elite quitter. His ceiling and firepower is still enough to win you games sometimes but his floor is so atrociously low that it makes it seem like he's ready to go home mid game. His last 2 playoff runs have been disgusting

Generational quitter mind you. At least I can understand Vince Carter's case with the Raps way back when and you still have some salty Raps fans who feel bad about it (considering the Raps finally won a chip back in 2019). James Harden kills another team’s title hopes. The Beard is never winning a championship. He’s never been clutch in the big moments and expecting that to change at 36 is a reach. James also has trouble deferring to the real superstar and here there are two. I’m going to enjoy the train wreck. Meanwhile the Sixers get probably 2 guys for their 7 man rotation. Philly won this trade. Clippers were bidding against themselves. Philly got addition by subtraction. His fit with LAC seems destined for trouble. A couple of those vet pieces could help Philly and/or give them some expiring contracts that may allow them to get another player near the deadline. His offensive stats are inflated due to an excessively high usg%. 5. Never consistently played well when the games really mattered. ---------- All culminating with an over inflated opinion of where he is as a player in the twilight of his career, and never being able to find the right fit to bring a team success. The sixers will win more games in tougher conference than the clippers post trade. I hate to break the news to the media narrative spinners, but the sixers are better than the bucks. They will win more games. Period. Defense matters. The sixers are the second best team in the east have about 60 million in cap space next year and just picked up 2 massive assets in the clippers 28/29 picks. The clippers are going to be horrible in 28/29 28 will be the late 30s leonard, pg13, and harden all making 55 million a year. That pick and swap may just be the most valuable asset in the nba right now. Those are almost guaranteed top 5 picks, if not better. The sixers and morey just killed this trade... the clippers just screwed themselves for the next 7 years. Nobody not named the nuggets and celtics are in a better position than the sixers. If im the sixers, im going hard for bridges or markkanen and then signing og or pascal depending on which of those players you trade for.

Those three in LA will not be healthy throughout the playoffs. Kawhi and PG have been chronically injured for the last 3 seasons or so. The Clippers if healthy and with a fully committed Harden could probably beat anyone. Let’s be honest, who really believes everything will go perfectly for them, and it results in a title? It’s not going to happen.

Is the NBA still a talent league? With all the parody in the league and Denver's success, it seems like the new blueprint is going to be having a mega star, a complimentary star, and a bunch of dogs. The league is too talented now for team not to be cohesive and play hard. The more stars you have on a team, the less cohesive they normally are.

76ers send filler and 2 firsts for Pascal? The PF spot is where the 76ers really need help and there's no way Embiid would be happy with a bunch of expiring deals. Hayward would be a great fit too but he's way to injury prone.

@@andrewshandle I don't think there was a sign and trade situation for FVV out there. Which is why he hit the market comfortably well because the teams targeting him would need to reach their salary cap floor anyway for a few years. Until they can give another promising first round rookie an extension. If Siakam goes to a different team with playoff aspirations and also needing cap flexibility to cut/move players in the immediate future, a S&T may happen.

Also, I have a love/hate relationship with the NBA, and James Harden is symbolic of what I hate. Finally, maybe Harden is a cool and good guy. I can't exactly say I have him on speed dial so idk.

Except most of us aren't contracted workers and protected by a pretty buff workers union. Most unions suck out there with strong exceptions like Police unions. If anything Harden's extreme take on not getting his way is what is scaring FO/GMs to even listening to his negotiating terms. Damian Lillard at least was very professional about his job situation despite dealing with 2 different GMs. He didn't get to go where he desired, but he arrived at a place that cares to compete at the highest level with talent around to do so.

WORST TRADE FOR CLIPPERS! NO SURPRISE! There are THREE major REASONS that LA Clippers are doing and have done WRONG! For one, they got Russell Westbrook as their point guard last season. Wesbrick is a total LOSER. He padded his stats before and continue to do that to get triple double every night, he doesn't care about winning, he cares about his numbers much like Lebron. Two, they acquired another LOSER, a BIG TIME CHOKER and a DRAMA KING named James Harden. Don't the Clippers know this man's history. Harden disappear, MISSING IN ACTION, when the team needed him the most especially in the playoff. Thirdly, Tyrone Lu, this coach is OVERRATED much like his predecessor Doc Rivers. I will not be surprised if he gets fired this season. Lu won his ONLY ring in Cleveland because of LUCK (Kyrie's last second clutch shot against the Warriors) and gathered multiple superstars in his team. Lu needs to learn how Raptor's Nick Nurse designed their plays around Kawhi, mind you the only superstar that carried the entire Toronto in his back to win a 2019 championship. My sympathy to Leonard for having underperforming, no strategy coach and 4 ball hugger teammates (Westbrick, Harden, George and Hyland). Better luck next time Kawhi!
