James Is AT BREAKING POINT (And It's Only DAY TWO!)

It's Day Two of James and Tata's new life in Indonesia... and already they've hit crisis point! James has absolutely no idea why Tata is having her latest emotional breakdown. And as he stands helpless watching on (with Tata's dad hugging him and praying and Tata's mom giving him evil looks) he's suddenly VERY aware of how out of his depth he is with the cultural and language barriers.
But, Tata's attitude when they get back to their hotel room only gets worse! She expects an apology from him 🤣 And when she doesn't get her own way, it doesn't take long for her to get angry and start crying again... which then leads to threats. Very manipulative threats.
So, does James have it in him to trust his gut and jump on the next flight home? Or will he continue to walk on eggshells and pander to Tata's demands? Time will tell 👀👀

It gives her HUGE anxiety to be forced into such a ditiation. Just because he LIED to her family about his promise to LEARN the language!. In Indonesia, the husband is the leader. It comes with priviliges, but ALSO eiyh a lot of obligations and responsebilities. She should never been put into that position. We have to understand thrur culture. Not be do ignorant and elitidm that we ignore that thry have a background and vsluesystem of theur oen. Culture differences etc. So it actually is a big deal. And he has shown so many things so far, that reveals that he is unfit to be married. He does not take his responsebilities as a husband, as a Man, as a spouse serious.

Actually, both Tata and James are terrible communicators. Not a fan of either. But as is often the case, that’s what makes them so entertaining. Definitely Brandan and Mary v2.0. James my dear boy you have had several years to learn even a simple phrase even a thank you and you are welcome goes a long way but not even those. Both are young they have still so much to learn in life like how to communicate openly with out the fear of judgement. Tata is bound to her culture much much more than James is to his. So to Tata it is more like away of life. If they want to be together seriously and build a life together my suggestion is that they move to the US. Why didn't he just go there to visit for 1 month just to see if they can make it work somehow... Youth is wasted on the young as they say :)

Nah translating is not as hard and complicated as people pretend it to be. She is fluent in english and now she wants me to believe that she got overwhelmed because he wanted her to give some input herself? Like be fr... She knows she gets away with everything if she just starts crying. And she is crying 24/7. She is losing her shit because of the child situation. That was her trigger. She is supposed to have children by now but since she knows that he might not want children (who can blame him when his wife is as unstable as Tata), so she feels like she failed her parents.

Understand something, JAMES wanted to lie to the parents about why they are really there. JAMES wanted to know if HE would get paid for working with her father. The entire conversation was about JAMES being a man and asking/talking to his father in law for help. Tata shouldn't have to step in and talk because its not her debt and she wasn't worrying about money and getting paid JAMES WAS. Then he had the audacity to yell at Tata for doing the very thing he promised to do five years ago, COMMUNICATE WITH THE FAMILY!!!! Tata was being pressured and she breakdown which is understandable. She felt like a bad wife and daughter and apologized, again its understandable, but really James should've apologized for yelling at her. James is the problem in this situation.

No, 9:00. In Islam, and especially Indonesian cultures.. the husband is the Leader of the family. It comes eith both privligies AND obligations of responsebilities. She broke down BECAUSE he forced her into a role that was NOT her responsebility!. He even promised her father and family that HE would learn their language do they could communicate with family. Do the BURDEN is on HIM. HE FAILED at his RESPONSEBILITIES. He NEGLECTED his responsebilities and PROMISES. And that FORCED the consequence of her having to now become an ackward middleman... on topics that is a HUSBAND / father responsebility to discuss in a conservative traditional culture. It made her extremly uncomfortable with anxiety, to go out of her natural role as a woman and wife. So he is to blame!. If you marry a person and family ftom a different vulture, you have an obligation to learn about THEIR background also. You can not just "take their daughter" and ignore her background, vulture, upbringing, religion, etc. And ignore his promises to her family etc.

My wife is asian, south east asian specifically just like Tata, and i can 100% confirm - this is the general emotional maturity SE asian girls possess. That being said, Tata is acting a few pegs worse than the normal, but this is perfectly normal behavior there. While you're sitting here judging Tata, you must remember that she is from a culture where the man is the leader. So not only is she having to translate on his behalf when he already promised that he was going to learn the language on at least a basic level, she now has to communicate to her parents that she married what would be a failure in their culture. She went against their wishes by marrying someone outside of their culture and country, then the person that she did marry turns out to be a loser. For them, they take marriage seriously so it's not as simple as just divorce him and go back to your regular life. She's upset about realizing how much of a failure her husband is and having to be the one to vocalize this to her parents whom she looks up to. That is why you're seeing her scream at him. Southeast Asian women are like this anyway and then you have this very upsetting situation that she's in.
