what does this have to do with the best and worst of inside the actors studio?

Yes.

I care, in fact I thank God for him, and for his television show that allows me to actually see how my favorite artists THINK. And he does so without the stupid questions a lot of them are prone to ask the performer. Intelligent show from an intelligent man.

I care. Despite his tone of voice, he's a great interviewer. Unlike so many other interviewers, he actually lets the other person speak.

I can listen to this man speak for hours endless and never tire of hearing what he has to say. Our world is privileged to have had the life of this man and thank you for these videos WNYC you have provided. THank you You Tube also for these videos for the public to see!

What, exactly, was this guy’s talent? I mean, he was good as the warden in “Arrested Development,” but he really wasn’t acting. He was just being James Lipton in a prison.

Random Trivia: James Lipton composed the theme music to the 80's children's cartoon "Thunder Cats". That's so surreal.

I’m travelling back from the year 2022, over a decade later, to tell you that your fact has rattled me to my core.
@nookie0772 жыл бұрын
@@panandscan4941 OMG, it's rattled me too. I'm thinking if I was joking or not... I'm sure I wasn't (haven't google cheated yet) as even 12 year back in time me would not joke about such things.

i love james lipton, but he does have that irritating "thing" that some people have that is softly overpraising himself in each sentence he says when hes talking about his life. i mean he Co- wrote some good shows and did some acting gigs, but he he´s famous because of the actors studio, thats it. be more humble, because the great ones , greater than you(lipton) usually are.

"thunder thunder thunder thunder CATS!" I can just imagine Lipton sitting at his mahogany desk, in a study filled with Shakespearian plays knocking that little gem out.

I find him an irritating pretentious person..having said that I can't help but admit that he not only looks great for his age which I was shocked to see (i took him for late 60's early 70's) but he doesn';t act like an old man in any way. I don't get why a guy of that age or any age would boither to dye his beard.Must be a pain in the ass.
@franknberry63973 жыл бұрын
Man you nailed that. Mustache is ridiculous. Pretentious man. But he got some good interviews through all his annoying ways.
@MS-wb5mf3 жыл бұрын
I remember how much he enjoyed talking about himself , he tried to come off like Laurence Olivier yet most of his performances were mediocre. As for the " Actors Studio " Charlie Rose was much better at interviewing Actors and really explored their sensibilities , all Lipton did was try to do trap them with gotcha questions.
