A big part of this movie was how actors sell things. How characters react to one another is a big part of how it works narratively. This movie is the film of reaction shots, all the character reactions draw you into the story perfectly.

Great interview. Good questions that get to the directing process in a deeper way than a lot of the other interviews. Congrats.

I'm really looking forward to this movie, but I find it kind of funny when directors (and not just Mangold) talk about stripping comic movies back and making them grounded. Thats exactly what X-men and X2 did and I'm happy to see that appraoch making a come back because thats how I like my comicbook movies.
