McKellen and Stewart were the icons of Xavier and Magneto. They might as well be Greek statues, full of conviction and virtue. BUT I love going back and watching Fassbender and McAvoy grow and mold their characters into the icons we know and love. They were both magnificent in Days of Future Past, dealing with so much heavy shit. However, Stewart's performance in Logan as the beaten down, decrepit, delusional Xavier is one of the 10 best performances in any comic book movie.

Doriartus No, they dictate who makes these films, their tone, what they can show and do, etc, Think about the tone of the first two Ironman films, and Incredible Hulk, compared to when Disney took control after Ironman 2. The tone went from serious to jokey and light right after that. It’s been said that Disney institutes a set of rules for their films that limits directors and producers from doing what they want. No sex, gory violence, explicit torture, - the list goes on and on. These are the exact reasons the X-Men would lose their what makes them unique, just as McAvoy said. If Disney gets them,!any message of inclusion and allusions to racism will either be tossed out, of me delivered in the most heavy handed way you can imagine. Feige would have Wolverine stabbing robots, and the X-Men fighting sentinels for no other reason than the mere spectacle of it. Everything that makes the X-Men who they are would be lost.

This was a wonderful interview but James and Josh have never done a bad interview together. If James is not playing Charles Xavier anymore there is no more x-men for me. There is no replacement for the young Charles just like there is no other actor who can portray Wolverine but Hugh Jackman. So I will just enjoy the movies James has made playing Charles and forget about any thing that comes after.
