A lot of churches are teaching faith without works which is wrong. This book solidifies that we need faith with works or it’s dead! I really appreciate these books on KZbin:)

I believe you misunderstand. Faith without works is dead. The bible also says we are saved by grace through faith, not of works so none can boast. You don't want a faith which produces no works. A good tree produces good fruit, therefore works is the fruit of our saving faith. Don't be a bad tree. Be a tree which produces good fruit.

@@Austinator430 Amen! I am an Orthodox Christian and I agree with this completely. I think the dialectic started because of the Roman Catholic indulgence system which we did not do and don’t agree with it. They still have indulgences but they’re not monetary now. It is a shame. We cannot buy or work our way into heaven. Heaven is a gift of faith freely received by our Lord Jesus Christ

Right now I’m on a 7 day fast from speaking from bitterness, anger, gossip or complaint. Not that this is a regular way of speaking for me but I’ve noticed an increase in my speech towards negative talk lately. As I sat praying in the dark this morning Holy Spirit impressed the book of James on me and that’s how I came to this video. One verse jumped out at me while listening; James 1:26 “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues DECEIVE THEMSELVES, and their religion is worthless”. (Emphasis mine) The thought of deceiving one’s self! It’s terrifying-It happens. 🙏🏼Lord help us not to deceive ourselves but to be fully AWARE of our intentions and actions and then follow your loving truth in all we think, day and do. Sanctify our hearts for all things flow from there, Amen

Faith by itself without works is dead... Once saved always saved is dead

Blasphemy. You are saved by faith alone not works Ephesians. Once saved always saved is truth. Works salvation is heresy.
@meletx65332 жыл бұрын
@@TheJpep2424 He is not saying that works save. He is saying that works is evidence of faith. So someone who says a sinner's prayer and is baptized and does not have evidence in their life of faith and does not "abide in the Vine" then that person is not saved and probably never was. But God is the judge and it is not for us to arrogantly go around making judgments that only God can make. There are plenty of Scriptures to indicate it is possible to fall away from the faith. And there are plenty of warnings. The warnings to the churches in the book of Revelation come to mind. No we can't carelessly lose our salvation but we must "walk circumspectly" and abide in the Vine or He will remove the dead branch. I've seen too many people in "once save always saved" churches who know very little of the Bible, do not have a respect or hunger for the Word, do not exhibit a relationship with God, but 100% believe they are going to heaven because they bought their fire insurance.

This has nothing to do with salvation. This teaching does not contradict Paul's teaching of being saved by grace though faith not of our works. James is saying that a dead faith is still faith. Otherwise it wouldn't be called faith. Jesus saying that if we do not walk in the works we have been appointed by God to do then God is unable to accomplish His purpose for His Glory in and through us. If we pray and ask God to provide for the homeless we have money and food to bless them then we should go out and answer our own prayers. This is what faith without works is dead means in it's correct context. There is absolutely NOTHING we can do to save ourselves. Someone who is saved and has been born again of the Holy Spirit they will naturally want to do the works God has set out for them to do. God doesn't need our works. They're not for Him. They are to bless and help others. To glorify God.

I think the ESV versions on KZbin do. I'm actually happy about them not announcing the chapter divisions because it helps me to see the book as one unit rather than isolated chapters. I can sympathize with what you're saying though

This confusion should not be in your understanding of the word of the Almight God. FAITH VS WORKS? IS FAITH ENOUGH TO SAVE US OR OUR WORKS ALSO ARE ALONG WITH OUR FAITH? ANSWER: Beloved, our Faith in the Lord Yeshua is ENOUGH to save us from Hell. But, to be justified in front of our God that we have actually have faith in Him is by doing the works of God. When Holy Spirit comes on a believer then from that moment oneards he/she starts to work for the LORD. (When Holy Spirit came on Jesus' deciples and many others they started to speak in tongues, which is again a work in faith of the Lord Jesus Christ because it brought glory to God as many that day were brought to God by believing in the LORD Jesus Christ) Example: When Paul believed He was saved from Hell. But, if he did not chose to work for the LORD and stayed in his house all the time having faith in God not working for God at all. How would he be justified of his faith in Heaven to God? Because Paul belived in Jesus Christ he went to Heaven but, Paul's work for the body of Christ has justified his faith in Him. Paul's works proved that he really loved his faith in Jesus Christ. Paul's faith was justified in front of God in Heaven. Jesus also believed in God (being God Himself, He humbled Himself). If Jesus just believed in God and did not work for His faith would we ever have received the eternal forgiveness from the Father God? It is equivalent to someone calling himself as a good person but, not doing any good works. Or someone who calls himself polite but is introvert and silent, doesn't talk much. Or someone who calls himself as funny but, doesn't make people laugh and is always serious in talking. How are their claims justified? By and Large, our faith is enough to get us to Heaven, but to have our faith justified before the Lord we need to work for the Lord.
