I work in mental health and the last decade has been horrifying, more and more people left without support, trying to survive in poverty, and unable to access the care they need because our services have been stripped to the bone. I've been thinking about leaving for a while, I feel burnt out and desperately sad for the people I can't help (because our team is too small, or they need economic help too, a roof over their head etc) but I don't feel like I can abandon my clients, and I know for a fact that I won't be replaced as they are trying to downsize our team, which will just make things even worse for the community we serve. It's insane to me that children go hungry in this country, and that we effectively punish and blame people for being disabled or unwell or poor. It's inhumane. I can't wrap my head around it.

Again she just demonstrates she knows nothing about economics. The Tories’ core policy is fiscal responsibility, that’s removing fiscal stimulus and reduces growth. Labour’s core policy is increased spending which is fiscal stimulus and promotes growth. It’s like her attempt at trickle down, a proven failed policy. Now she gets it completely backwards on growth policies. Not to mention her party has already been in power for 13 years and growth has been poor because of their horrible policies like a hard brexit that has and will continue to reduce growth by 4 percentage points. It’s laughable.

In North America townhouses is the word for terraced housing. Wikipedia says property developers are starting to use that word here. No idea why she's using that term though.

Yeah this 'North London' thing is a bizarre tabloid phenomenon which has emerged recently, it might be to do with the fact it includes Islington, Jeremy Corbyn's constituency. Liz Truss reminds me of every project manager I've worked for on IT projects which ultimately failed. Claim some strategy you want to happen e.g. "growth, growth, growth", refuse to be pinned down to any concrete plans on how you plan to achieve it, whenever anyone raises valid concerns ridicule them as naysayers and not "team players", and keep plowing ahead with ill conceived ideas refusing to admit the thing is failing. We used to describe it as "management by wishful thinking". Truss has no mandate for what her government is doing. It is so far removed from what even Tory voters previously voted for. Sign this petition now: "Call an immediate general election to end the chaos of the current government."
