I met Stanley Banks way back in the 1980s in Saratoga, NY. He was staying at the hotel my group played in. I was at the bar one afternoon and Stanley and the rest of the band (George Benson's band) was going for a sound check at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and he couldn't eat the order of oysters he just had placed in front of him since their car had arrived and he gave them to me! A few years later at the same hotel I met the whole band again and it was about 3am and they wanted to find a diner and get breakfast so I was their guide and I got to have breakfast with Stanley and the band. Finally, about 20 years later, I met Stanley one afternoon at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas and he actually remembered me from Saratoga. He arranged for me to go backstage after Benson's show and say hello to George. Stanley Banks is an incredible musician and a great human being. Thanks for giving me a chance to talk about the wonderful guy!

Lovely person in life. I absolutely expecteded that from someone who could play with so much soul, Warmth (and groove) as he does with Benson on the "absolutely live" concert. I am glad i discovered Stanley Banks, it gives me a lot of inspiration to work even harder on my bass playing. A new and big fan from Paris/France

I love his playing and his energy. I always look for him with George. When they are together, look out! I remember Ester Phillips too. My brother was raving about Ester. She had a thing for my little brother. LOL

A great humble guy who gave an amazing performance last night in Marbella at GB's concert. Was lucky to meet him afterwards for a chat and how he was discovered in Café Wha, and another genius that is Ron Long. You can see that Stanley loves his craft.
