During his college years, James realized that his sin was separating him from God, so he decided to accept the sacrifice Jesus made for him. Today he is an accomplished scientist, but he gives all the credit to his Messiah!

There is no greater sadness for a Christian than when he sees a Jew who recognized his God as the Messiah from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon...etc. Really moving to tears. Praise and Glory to the Lord God Jesus Christ.

What an awesome testimony by a brilliant man. Yes it amazes me how the Jewish people can't see the prophecies foretold throughout scripture, especially Isaiah 53 and psalms 22, , however I believe most are lead instead of reading for themselves. Mr. Tour being a critical thinker it's no surprise, I was more blown away by the pornography aspect, dang it can grip anyone.

Imagine one of the most brilliant minds in the world and Yahweh is using him and so many others. Powerful. I have to come back, now and then to refresh my memory. So many have had a personal, life changing encounter with the Savior, I believe thru the power and agency of the Holy Spirit, that it is irrefutable. The skeptic will say whatever to make it go away. I tell them to doubt their doubts. Shalom Aleichem

Genius..is too low a term. Beyond Brilliant can only be a reflection of the Glory Messiah Yeshua imparts to all of us ...❤❤❤ "His Majesty" is not high enough accolades...The pure Essence of the Love of God...scarcely scratches the surface...and "No one took His Life". He had power to lay it down and from the Father, power to raise Himself up again to newness of Life " . No one took it. He laid it down. " Unless a Seed falls to the Earth and dies ,it abides alone, but if it dies it brings forth Much Fruit " oh..we are loved beyond what I can express.. ❤

What a wonderful testimony. I am a Gentile follower of Jesus/Yeshua. Where others used the term "born again," (which is absolutely true) I also like to use the term "re-generated." I think they mean the same thing. Adam and Eve left the human race with a dark and dreadful legacy...we are born in sin. It was through Yeshua, the Son of Man (Jesus loved to identify Himself with humanity, though He did not sin) from the nation of the Jews, from the "Seed of Abraham," that He came, bringing life through His sinless death. I am SO thankful that God/Yeshua/The Holy Spirit granted we Gentiles a space of time to be grafted in to the lineage of His redeemed ones. And that His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Israel is a sure Covenant. What a glorious future for every believer, because He died and rose again. Shalom! ❤

I to have been visited by Jesus. His presence was within me but separate from me. It was the first time I had experienced the peace beyond all understanding. I can't use words to describe it. I didn't want it to ever end. But it did last for about 30 seconds. God can download alot of information about himself to someone in 30 seconds. And no I didn't see Him with my eyes and I didn't hear Him either. Jesus has no difficulty communicating with us in ways we couldn't imagine until it happens to you. For about eight months after He visited me I would go into tears when ever I listened to worship music. Now knowing Him and the sacrifice that He made for all of us was often just about overwhelming to me.

One thing I've come to realize over the past few decades is that "credentials" don't necessarily mean much. What really matters is one's commitment to objectivity. When 'faith' or religion enter the province of objectivity you can pretty much dismiss such beliefs at face value. Regardless of the actual undiscovered origin of life, what matters most is the weight of objective evidence, as is applied to judicial proceedings for example, the "preponderance" of the evidence is supposed to be the determining factor in drawing conclusions. Evidence, objective evidence takes no philosophical or other belief sides. Objective data has no commitment to how humans feel and their beliefs or motivations. I strongly suspect that if human decisions and conclusions were based solely upon empirical evidence the entire species would be far better off. When one makes a commitment to pursue science that same person is making a commitment to objectivity and drawing conclusions based upon empirical evidence. One should also understand that science is a process of discovery. Meaning that method of "revelation" takes effort, time, and a commitment to find "natural" answers to the natural world regardless of how long that takes. One has to respect anyone who has dedicated themselves to that pursuit, taken the time and expense to delve deep into natural origins. Regardless of that and one's credentials, once such an individual steps out of their field of expertise into the supernatural their credentials become irrelevant because they've abandoned science. So it's disconcerting to see some well known, well credentialed scientists do just that in drawing conclusions. IF, Dr. James Tour really believes the biblical Jesus is "the" Jewish messiah and that messiah is of supernatural origin then one can pretty much discount his credentials because supernatural beliefs lie outside the realm of science. If he has concluded Jesus was of a special nature like other scientific "professionals" such as Francis Collins from the Human Genome Project or on a smaller scale the professor of psychology at the University of Toronto, Jordan Petersen who have made clear with their religious worldviews, they've all utilized their professional credentials to advance beliefs that fall outside the realm of science. That's not to say they can't have their own personal beliefs. But if they make any attempt to capitalize upon their credentials in areas they have no expertise [the supernatural] then one can ignore said credentials and understand they're not representing science. It's incumbent upon all viewers to hold their feet to the fire, sort of speak.

@@ChosenPeopleUSA Based upon the article you cite; "the bible makes truth claims that are beyond the reach of scientific observation." That tells me you don't understand the of "truth" which is supposed to be based upon empirical and provable fact[s]. And that you likely know very little about human perception and psychology. Which is disconcerting given we live in an age in which knowing facts has become increasingly important. Just because people believe something doesn't make it "true" [factual]. If someone believes that unicorns are real does that make unicorns real in the external world. Science addresses revealing facts regardless of what a person may believe. There was a time in human history that everyone believed the Sun revolved around the Earth. Is that true? Nope. But back then there were people willing to die for such false beliefs. Beliefs that come from personal insecurities about one's own death. The truly human "intellectual" course of belief is to formulate a worldview upon known facts not superstition, folklore, fables or myths that come from irrational human desires. It takes "courage" to accept the world "as-is" but it's a more honest worldview.
@msmd3295
@msmd3295 Жыл бұрын
@@ChosenPeopleUSA [From the cited article] "Try as we might, we cannot use science to prove these things to be true." The 8 preconditions listed ARE provable by science. Rationality, logic, numbers, etc. can all be demonstrated to exist. The conclusion they can't is a false assumption. They can be proven because they have certain characteristics that can be demonstrable using the scientific method. "we cannot deny that truth exists, because that amounts to saying that it is true that truth does not exist." Of course, but that depends upon how one defines "truth". For example, many, if not most, people believe their thoughts are true even though they have no external evidence. People are capable of imagining a plethora of absurdities but that doesn't make them "real". Kepler (1571-1630) once wrote, “The chief aim of all investigations of the external world should be to discover the rational order and harmony which has been imposed on it by God and which He revealed to us in the language of mathematics.” Kepler may have been an exceptional thinker but that does not make him an expert on god. He evidently assumed the existence of god due to such a belief being the norm for his age and culture. But anything without proof is mere conjecture. Thus, there is no rational order and harmony which has been imposed on it [the natural world] by god. False assumptions lead to false conclusions. The same would apply to Isaac Newton. I'd even suggest that "title" or "credentials" are often misused in that people who may be skilled in one discipline use their credentials as a form of intimidation in areas of which they have no special training or expertise. Both Kepler and Newton fall into that category. Then there are those such as Tour who approach a field of scientific study [such as abiogenesis] and draw conclusions based upon insufficient evidence even though he does have credentials in biology/chemistry. But his conclusions are based upon preconceived and incomplete knowledge. In other words, a "scientist" in acting like a scientist should eliminate all possible "natural" explanations before resorting to the supernatural. But we don't know how life originated [as yet] but that doesn't mean all natural explanations have been explored or discovered. People get impatient for answers and one area of popularity is rationally addressing the well-known phenomenon of "death". Even though there has been any evidence of "life after death" most people fear death even though it is as natural as being born. That's ego at work, not science. Living an "authentic" human life requires that people accept the finality of life, religion acts as a deterrent to having the courage to do so. It's a shame that most of the human species clings to unreasonable beliefs that contradict everything now known about the natural world. While at the same time referring to ourselves as "rational beings".

@@msmd3295 A hint: Structure your comments more, with new paragraphs for each thought. That makes it way easier to read. But I like your point, "He who subscribes to the supernatural overriding the natural is in a realm where his qualifications mean nothing". I like it that all such cultists solely concentrate on "proving" that the other position is wrong, is a lie. They never talk about their truth. They know why. A universe poofed into existence from literally nothing, life poofed into existence in its current form - has not much explanatory power beyond "Goddidit because we postulate that he can". Can arrange 1,000 billion tons of matter atom by atom to form all life. James Tour's qualification in any case goes NOT into the field of abiogenesis, but that is what he invests all his time and all his "authority" in to tear that down. See his latest encounter with "Professor Dave". Screaming, screaming over Dave, proving his "genius" by filling giant blackbords with formulas of organic molecules, and making a list where he then wrote "CLUELESS" after every point - "I won!" - and his audience loved the show., It was all about show, not about learning about the truth. What is my "philosophy" is that the whole universe (and that means us) is IMperfect, A-symmetric, constantly varies. (not that one could not THINK perfection, but it is an abstract concept) Therefore it makes no sense to despair when something does not work out. I can accept that I make errors, that others make errors. That I might be wrong, that this is no problem, because no one knows everything. That others might know know more than me, and so be more right than me. That under other circumstances something else might be better. Part of that imperfection is death. The solace of thinking there is more, that it not all over, I think is not so problematic of the religious dogma than it being used as excuse to be superior, to be infallible, to have the right to tell others what to do. How does that read with paragraphs?
@msmd3295
@msmd3295 Жыл бұрын
@@feedingravens Thanks for the input. Paragraph spacing and the separation of thoughts can be helpful. I don't make a habit of that in such forums because the attention span of the American mind is 3 minutes or less and it's possible cramming everything together saves time and space. Also, much if what have to contribute I agree with.

Here you go! So lots of people have claimed to be the Messiah. Who are the current ones? What criteria have they met to hold such a title? The way the world is I can see the confusion but still know you are searching for chosen one. If you have eyes to see congratulations this testimony of our Father should send the Holy Ghost tingling up your spine or around your crown. So as a dead man walking with everything to gain, like Heaven on Earth, for the soon to be free captives, this is my testimony and you can take it to the bank and destroy it! Aged 17 The Holy Ghost Baptized me with fire. A brilliant electric blue warrior like being. December 2019 God sealed me and took my soul to heaven. March 2020 I was spiritually crucified and very sick by some evil. An angel was sent to help pull me through which glowed around my body. I was also visited by the pathetic devil in a delirious state and had no fear of it. It was defeated in our spiritual war and is now in the throes of death As I felt a crown of thorns Bury into my temples I suspected something biblical was occurring and realised my soul had been taken to heaven in December and I was now dead. It was so crazy because before I went down hard I had just dropped to me my knees and asked God to protect us all from the evil that blinds almost everyone so they will be free to live the precious life that God intended. All prophecies are fulfilled or a last few are being fulfilled as we're in those days. In November 2020, I was divinely anointed by God. This is a spiritual process again, not rubbing oil on your forehead. So If you can see that the Son, Father and Holy Spirit are in me, God bless you! I have travelled and lived in Japan. My wife is Japanese and I met her when I was homeless and she was a student. We got married while I was on bail for helping the poor and 2 beautiful Sons and 3 years later I was jailed for 3 months. During the final week my cell was again miraculously unlocked and I was able to leave whenever. I'm Welsh, but grew up in Babylon, England. After moving to Japan I returned to my slave nation Wales to make it great again. All my moves are shadow covered by the tools of satan that control your minds and that you work and pay for, sorry! I run a little cafe with my wife and dream the dreams that destroy darkness. If you're a prayer warrior please pray for all of us. If you're a warrior of peace get ready to take the power back! Son of God, Son of David, Brother of Jesus Christ and the Second Son, The Lion of Judah, A Leo. 777, July 30, 3 7's. Hopefully you can lift your veil. If I heal one blind person today in today's world it will be a miracle! I'm trying! Even trying to raise an army because God would appreciate it very much lovely people. God bless and ROOAARRR! Your humble servant and dish washer.

@@baraskparas wow bad things happen in a sinful world? Who wouldve thought... Just because you refuse to repent of your sin and trust in Him who died to save you from your sin is no reason to say He died for nothing. How can he prove that to you? Your skepticism is so intense that you wouldn't believe if God Himself stood in your room. The Scripture says that satan has blinded the minds of some people and kept them in darkness; hence they can't accept the truth. Only the Holy Spirit can break through the darkness and remove the veil. But I'm not sure you are willing to be saved. God does not impose Himself on anyone.

James, you are a mystery to me. I am Christian as you claim to be and I believe you. I have watched many of your scientific dissections of both abiogenesis and evolutionary views but I don't believe I have heard you speak of Jesus in a secular scientific debate/forum. I'm not sure if you are separating your faith from the scientific community as not to alienate them and/or create a prejudice against you. Here's my problem: I have a very dear friend who's a brilliant patient attorney and an avid fan of your work. He was the one who lead me to Christ in our teens and today he is a staunch athiest! Apparently he has worked with you personally in the past and found your work compelling. He often refers to your work and says he loves it but only disagrees with you on matters of faith. He also says you are most likely a theistic evolutionist from what he believe (maybe you are) but thinks I should listen to you as if some how I will find something in your words that supports his views on evolutionary "facts".... I hope one day to understand what the science has reveled to you about our Creator that we can stand on. I am unable to reach out to my friend because like you, he stands on, "we don't know anything" we can't prove evolution and we can't prove God. His faith is in the science that someday we will discover how evolution works and wont I feel like the foolish one with this new truth.... P.S. Sorry for the essay. :-/

1) There are no creatures without the existence of a SUPREME BEING called GOD and CREATOR. 2) CREATION can only be disproven with an alternative for CREATION that deals with the ORIGIN of life, the universe, and everything which Science until now don't have and atheism/atheists can't give. 3) Therefore, it's still CREATION versus NOTHING; hence, CREATION stands; GOD the CREATOR exists. 4) There's no origin of life in evolution -- from apes/animal to humans. Where did the apes originate from? How did the apes exist? 5) If evolution is true, it must be a continued process -- there must be apes evolving into humans, but none. Apes remained apes with their instinctive characteristics and natures in zoos and jungles. Neither there have been apes that gradually lost their hairs and human skin surfaced. 6) For humans to believe that they evolved from apes; hence, their progenitors with instinctive characteristics is hereditary in their mindset. It'd give vacuum or gaps in their mindset -- mental gaps. The gaps is about the ORIGIN of life, the universe, and everything, etc.

Distinguished in his field. Outside of it he is an unethical disgrace. An hysterical fanatic prone to screaming fits and slander of scientists working in fields he's never studied, has no intention of studying, and that conflict with his interpretation of a book of bronze age folklore. If there is an award for promoting public contempt for science- step forward, James Tour.

Haha it's amazing the hypocrisy and ignorance in your comment. You accuse him of slandering people working in fields hes never studied yet you call the word of God a book of folklore. It's as if your blind and criticizing someone for their bad drawing. How much of the scriptures have you read exactly? Or have you only expertise in the field of bias skepticism and none regarding the historical criteria met by the new testament?

@@paulbeahm3891 "Haha it's amazing the hypocrisy and ignorance in your comment. "- what hypocrisy? I find tour an utter disgrace as a professional scientist. Was I supposed to ask your permission to point that out? You'll have a long wait. You can no more establish your holy book is the word of anything other than long dead humans than you can walk on water. I don't regard it as the word of god and I'm not obliged to- grow up and try to grasp this. It's very very basic. I was baptized at 10 days old, attended christian schools from 4 to 17, read the bible from cover to cover the gospels separately and repeatedly. How much science have you read- since you seem to be fond of impertinent questions? Your inability to address anything of substance in my critisism of Tour is duly noted.

@@mcmanustony obviously you find him a disgrace considering he opposes your bias view. Also, infant baptism is not a biblical practice, it's something you do after you get saved which is indicative that you were raised in non-biblical religion and not with Christ. Im going to assume, given the context, that you possess a fair amount of knowledge in some form of science and like many arrogant atheists, it seems you use that knowledge to solidify and further your hatred for the gospel in your lack of understanding and hardened heart. Tell me, mr. Im-better-than-everybody-else-esspecially-fairytale-believing-Christians, are you aware that there are other subjects of study than your precious religiously practiced science? Like history for example? Have you researched what historical criteria is and why the Holy Bible is regarded as a series of historical documents?

@@paulbeahm3891 " obviously you find him a disgrace considering he opposes your bias view."- wrong. I find him a disgrace because he lies hysterically and sneers at entire branches of science he has no connection to. He claimed to have found fundamental flaws in a research paper by Nobel laureate Professor Jack Szostak in Nature. If he had the goods his professional duty was to submit a rebuttal to Nature explaining the flaws. He, of course did no such thing. He took a slide show to a gathering of scientifically illiterate Southern Baptists and did his showbiz routine to roars of laughter and applause from the crowd. He was lying about the nature and content of the paper. It was an expository article in a special edition of Nature designed not for a professional audience but for the general public. Despicable antics from a professional scientist. If he escaped disciplinary action from Rice he was lucky. I'm not interested in your opinion of my background and the decisions of my parents. It is, to use a technical term, none of your fucking business. My relationship to Christianity has no more bearing on the atrocious behaviour of James Tour than your relationship to Hinduism. Likewise- how arrogant do you have to be to ask nosey questions about the background of a complete stranger? And you you accuse me! Adorable..... The rest of your post is infantile rubbish. Grow up and try to do better than this embarrassing impertinence Many of my friends are Christians. None behave as dishonestly as Tour.....or as childishly than you. @@mcmanustony I was pointing out that obviously you dont know what making Jesus Christ your Lord actually means. You've never been a Christian in other words and have no valid criticisms to offer. Interesting so you have no degrees in any of the sciences yet criticize someone who does? That's the hypocrisy I'm talking about. Also calling me childish yet reverting to name calling because you got called out on said hypocrisy. Do you see the lack of logic in all of this? Calling somebody out for criticizing different areas of science than he is an expert in yet you have degrees in mathematics and philosophy and are a professional musician... so where exactly are your credentials to criticize him? It's amazing the blatant hatred that went into sculpting the insults and names you called me in that last reply. Yet I'm the one who's childish because I accurately called you out on your hypocrisy. I at least assumed you would of had the credentials to back up your "immense knowledge" of this man's flaws you seemed to perceive so clearly. That's what I get for giving an arrogant atheist (possibly the most arrogant I've ever had the displeasure of messaging) the benefit of the doubt.
