The Dogone tribe in Africa told explorers in the early 20th century about visitors from proxima b. So i believe that there is indeed life there and its WAY more advanced than we are now.

So let me ask a stupid ?if it is light years away and they depict tohe picture of the planet that is fairly clear why cant we get crystal clear pics of say are moon that is less then 240 thousand miles.

If Proxima b has our exact atmospheric composition, with a Van Allen Belt, has every amenity of the earth, it would still be uninhabitable. It’s tidally locked, if it’s close enough to a red dwarf to receive the same amount of warmth and light that the earth has, because there would be constant severe weather due to the fronts generated due to the cold, dark side and the warm day side. It would be a land of constant violent straightline winds, plus it would be full of hurricanes and tornadoes. Moments in any given locale there during which a person could stand on the ground without being blown away like a rag doll would be few and far between.

If the telescope cannot detect whether there is another planet at the edge of our solar system, how can it detect whether there is life on a planet that is orbiting another sun?

I love the excitement around these discoveries, but how reliable are the conclusions we're drawing from these images? Could we be misinterpreting the data and setting ourselves up for disappointment?
@simonallan9941Ай бұрын
No its not suitable for life as we know it, because its way too close to the star, especially when it a highly active red dwarf star, and also it tidally locked in orbit.

I've got a real good question, what if every planet we can see in the "goldilocks" zone around it's star has intelligent life? Then what?🤔
@zeldagaz1979Ай бұрын
🤔 so why haven't we sent out any new probes using solar sails?
@oliverl.90042 ай бұрын
1. Proxima Centauri is a red dwarf star. Red Dwarfs are much smaller than solar analogs. 2. The habitable zone of a red dwarf has to be much closer to the star than to other bigger types of stars, like yellow (our sun) or orange dwarfs. 3. Most if not all planets around a red dwarf are tidally locked, which means one side always points towards the star. The existence of life on a planet that is tidally locked is almost zero. 4. Red dwarfs are much more violent in nature than calmer stars like our sun. The solar flares are comparably stronger and more devastating. Planets orbiting a red dwarf in a theoretical habitable zone are constantly bombarded by flares, which would wipe any existant atmosphere off its surface. So it's highly unlikely life could develop into intelligent life around a red dwarf. The probability isn't entirely zero of course. But that the star closest to earth is an unlikely exception to the rule would be truly extraordinary and therefore very unlikely.

The journey to Proxima Centauri taking 20 years is not gonna happen. With today’s technology you’re looking at 70,000 years. 20 years would require relativistic speed of Somewhere around 35,000 mi./s. Per second I said. What is your proposal to protect the dream spacecraft from even dust particles in space which would destroy the craft at that speed? That is the speed we will never, ever accomplish.
