So the Indiana Pacers signed the 2020 NBA Draft #2 overall pick James Wiseman to a two year deal and this signing feels like a sneaky good one. James Wiseman is coming to a situation where he will not only get playing time but also have a chance to become a way better basketball player than he already is.

As a Warriors fan and Huge James Wiseman fan I’m so happy he’s at a place where finally I believe he will get his shot . The guard play in Detroit was God awful outside of Cade who he barely played with cause he wasn’t starting and probably should’ve been but the drafted Duren who is great in his own right but still very young . Wiseman need to be liberated and the Pacers will do that. It should be noted while it’s technically his 5th season Wiseman has only actually played less than 2 seasons of NBA basketball check his minutes and games played amazing ball skills for a big . I lean more Anthony Davis/Embiis than Ayton. Wise best game which hasn’t been featured yet is facing up . He’s was built to be a center of an offense but landed in the worst spot for that. He’s now more comfortable doing the small dirty work lead the league in screen assist and screen quality while barely playing. I believe he will show the reason he’s a #2 pick I’m excited.Love the video will watching a lot of Pacers basketball! 💙💛

I was a Warriors fan until they traded wiseman! I watched every summer league game, g-league game. He is a great player. He started 20 games in 22-23 for Detroit and I was so excited. 24 min 12 points 8 rebounds. He is a Slam Dunk Monster! I think he didn’t take 3 pointers last year because Monte wouldn’t let him. He has a good form for it. When he gets in a rhythm he is Unstoppable. I am a pacers fan now and will be watching every game!😀

I love the pick up. Totally worth a shot. He could turn into an absolute steal for us. Specifically big for the Pacers and their weaknesses

He is a great defender and a great rebounder. The Pacers are a better team!! This was a great signing! He is going to love playing with Haliburton!!! We got 4 lottery picks from the 2020 draft!!!!

I gotta be honest, I was never sold on IJax as our backup center or Jalyn smith for that matter. They’re both 6’9” and just can’t hang with centers to be honest. That’s actually why I love this signing as well. It gives us versatility we didn’t have before. Wiseman can play backup center or if needed we’d be able to do a super big lineup with him Turner and Siakam at the same time. It’s going to be a great year!

Young Bigs in the NBA take a while to get going he is only 23 years old. There will be some inconsistency in his game until he gets consistent playing time. He is fun to watch and will be a double double guy in the future.

I know that Jackson played better at end of year. But the first half of the year he looked like he didn't belong in the NBA at all. Point is, he hasn't proven himself over a full season. I think the backup center position is up for either of these guys.

100% agree, I wanted the Pacers to trade for Wiseman years ago, along with Kuminga. Just always seemed like he’d be a good fit with Indiana’s style of play.

Isaiah Jackson went toe to toe with Hartenstein in that New York series…. He earned his spot…. I rather a player get better in the second half of the year then to start off good but then disappear in the playoffs…..it his spot to lose…. But in reality this move is for depth and rebounds…Every team stacking up superstars but have no depth or bench or chemistry….

I’ve been saying this too. He made too many mistakes at the wrong time. He’d make a good play then a turnover. Very inconsistent.

Yeah Monte played James sparingly. Monte said wiseman had a great work ethic and was a roll model for a young player who didn’t get much playing time by working in the gym and watching tape. I’m a big fan of the pacers now and will be watching every game

I thought Wiseman was going to be really good coming out of college so far, I’ve been wrong but we’ll see. I’ve always like his potential I think he will be our backup Center before the year is over.

Its funny you said that bcuz I was wanting to be an ahole too and just talk trash about Wiseman for the he|| of it and say how it was a trash pick up, I was feeling the same way you were but I decided against it but hes actually a lowkey decent pickup, definitely a low risk high reward being he's still so young and has room for improvement. If not improvement in his game he could still very easily improve his numbers just playing with Hali, T.J., and Nemhard and getting more opportunities and playing time than he's previously gotten in other places. Also I agree with you the backup Center position is up for grabs.

So are you putting some of your paychecks to sign a player or trade. Because we don’t have enough cap space to do anything unless we trade key players. And if we do it’s going to be Ben or Walker and it’s not the right time to do that wait until trade deadline when teams are more desperate.

Lets be real. He has a lot of physical tools that are intriguing. But from what ive seen he hasnt been consistently good and reliable. Ive seen him look really sharp, then i e seen him look like a ppayer that isnt wanting to assert himself. Maybe its the IQ that hasnt caught on to the systems he has been in yet? But im hopeful. As always. Iclike he s physical attributes a lot!
