I real want a help in here.....dedign is not a problem on me,,when it comes to machining on the rotary we call 4th axis.....I fail to get it right,what's a real POST PROCESSOR from Artcam 2018 that compatible to run on the DSP A18 controller......? The DSP controller 4th axis controller couldn't help me on this..... I have my CNC router Machine very well working on the flat bed with no issues...but when it come fir rotary axis I fail to achieve.

Hi @JamesDeanDesigns, thank you for the great tutorial! Btw: I've found the plugin in the Carveco postprocess folder, maybe in the last releases they provided it... I've also created a version of the plugin for the X-wrapped axis, It's a straightforward modification :)

Hi James, excellent video thank you. one question, how do you connect the 4th Axis and use it with UGS? Do you replace the Y drive sockets with the rotary or use the A axis plug? Thank you for your time, most appreciated. Tony

Will depend on your machine. If it has an A axis port then it should be done to use that. If not then the Y axis

James, I hope you can help. I am struggling hard with my CNC. I have had nothing but issues with it (multiple replaced parts) and now with my new 4th axis, The jobs come out upside down and backwards with normal gcode and with the rotary gcode UGS won't even run saying its an ivalid post processor. I hope you have some ideas because I have been fighting the urge to just return this CNC machine from day one.

@JamesDeanDesigns it shows it doesn’t deal with square stock. Could you do a clearance path and figure out the final diameter and have it create the round stock first with a 4th axis? If you don’t have a lathe…

Yes, you could work around it like that. You would end up cutting a lot of dead air but should solve it. The 4th axis function in Maker is fairly basic in comparison to something like DeskProto but equally there is a considerable price difference between them
