Another fun ride-along from the fictional back seat of the Ercoupe. I sense a bit of exhaustion on the return journey. I think you have earned it. Just as they did for Lewis and Clark nearly 220 years ago, those mountains are looming ahead somewhere.

Hey James and Diane, I just saw the article in Sport Aviation and realized you have a climb prop. At some point I will be flying from eastern Iowa to Double Eagle in Albuquerque at about 5200 ft. I am a flat lander so I am curious about the performance of a C85 with an 0200 crank at western altitudes. I enjoy the Chanel and you made a great decision to leave when you did. I ended up sleeping on a concrete garage floor and my tent was damaged in the tornado. I didn’t get out till 1pm Saturday.

Absolutely love your channel. I have dreams of owning and flying an Ercoupe of my own some day. My great uncle owned one in the 60’s and I’m gonna send you a photo of him in his wonderful machine.

More small airplanes need a canopy like that. The utility of that thing is amazing.

It's really a good design in many ways, I love it. Not sure how good as roll-over protection, and the sun can fry you, a lot of people don't like that.

Fort Dodge a nice up-market airport. Lot more relatively flatter scenery this time - weather seemed pretty kind. Enjoyed another safe leg towards home, and nice FBO at Columbus. EAA a very nice '805' bonus :)

I am enjoying your videos very much. I have always loved the Ercoupe (and I even know how to correctly pronounce it). I confess that I found your OSH arrival video by accident and watched it for ONE REASON!! That reason is that you taxied to your parking spot right thru my front yard. Each year, me and my 195 are parked on the north side of the Magoo Taxiway. Whether you know it or not, that is the means to get from the main taxiway off of 18/36 to the "other" parking across the walkway. You taxied right past my white/grey 195 (with red cowl cover). Did not look like I was present at the time but I would have waved as you went by. I know the feeling of surviving the arrival and seeing Tall Tom come up to my plane and shake my hand. Then, on your walk on morning, you recorded the Yoddler. I recorded the exact same "bit" and continue to show my friends how we wake up every morning at OSH. (I saw my plane again at the beginning of your "walk" segment. And if that was not enough of a connection, I noticed a map where you stopped in BBW (Broken Bow Nebraska), where I once served on the airport authority. However I did not see any video of that segment of your trip. Maybe you elected to keep going that day???? Keep them coming. You are showing others that there are much more interesting and fullfilling vehicles for aviating than flying around in a Clorox bottle.
