It’s never been a crime if you look at producers who made beats back in the day sampled records using MPKs etc,.. how you use the samples is what makes you stand out from the rest

The same people that claim using presets and loops is a crime are the same people that bitch about DJs using sync lol... It's all in HOW you do it, eh?
@avationmusic
@avationmusic 7 ай бұрын
As someone who makes presets and loops, it’s not a crime, but also don’t overuse them. If I were to give it an arbitrary figure, I’d never want my own productions to be more than 50% loops and samples. James is also manipulating the loops and presets quite extensively. At the end of the day though it really is just a question about ego isn’t it?

My friends and I have been using this for big TV commercials for a while now. You often get a brief where the deadline is 3-5 days, because of some video production timeline fuckup that happened before they hired you. They were using a Jungle tune throughout the post-production process as a temp track and don’t want to pay money to sync it, so you need to copy it close enough to have the same vibe, but not too close so as to come into plagiarism area. Remember, you a team that has been working on that project for at least 8 weeks, and now they’re extremely biased towards the temp track, so the number of revisions will be hellish. Add to that the fact that you simply don’t have the time to hire a good singer due to the impossible deadlines, so what do you do? AI vocals. You write, then sing the song yourself and feed it into the ai vocals multiple times to get a choir effect and then group process it and it’s not your lousy singing anymore, but a bona fide gospel choir. Formant it a bit to avoid copyright issues and you’re done :) It is still clunky and has some nasty artefacts and I prefer paying real people to do the job, but when the brief is super tight time-wise, then it can save your ass. And before anyone starts grilling me about copying the temp track or using ai, do some research on how the music for commercials or even tv/cinema works. Even big names like Junkie XL and Ludwig Göransson are constantly stuck with the task of copying the temp track when hired and either you do it or they hire somebody else.

Honestly This is crazy.. asked chat gpt to summarize this with time stamps : Summary: The video is an in-depth breakdown of the production process behind a newly released track called "Wild," highlighting the creation of the synth lead, bass, drums, chords, and the use of AI to recreate a vocal sample. It also covers the application of various effects, processing techniques, and the minimal use of plugins on the master chain. Key Points: 0:09 The video presents a detailed breakdown of the production process for the track "Wild," emphasizing the creation of the synth lead, bass, drums, chords, and the use of AI to recreate a vocal sample. 1:20 The synth lead is created using multiple layers of the same preset with different effects, resulting in a complex and epic sound. 1:23 The bass is derived from a loop with additional processing such as Decapitator, Kickstart, EQ, and reverb to achieve a techno feel. 2:15 The drum section largely consists of loops, particularly the 909 kit, with additional effects and processing to enhance the overall sound. 5:35 The creator utilized AI to recreate a vocal sample from an old track, explaining the process of importing it into Audimee and modifying it to fit the track. 7:36 Surprisingly, the master chain contains only three plugins: Blackbox, Fabfilter Saturn, and BrainWorx limiter, which are used minimally to achieve the desired sound. 8:47 The producer emphasizes the simplicity of the project in terms of the elements used, highlighting that the track was made in just a few hours and was well-received in the DJ set. 9:02 The video concludes with a call to support the released track and encourages viewers to subscribe for more content.

I want to take a moment to express my deep admiration for James Hype, not only as a DJ but especially as a producer. His innovative approach to music and his ability to create electrifying tracks have always inspired me. James Hype’s unique style and energy behind the decks are truly unmatched, and his productions consistently push the boundaries of what’s possible in electronic music. Following his advice has been a game-changer for me. I recently completed the DJTips course with Phil and James, and it has profoundly impacted my skills and understanding of music production. The insights and techniques I learned from James have been invaluable, and I feel more confident and creative in my own work. Thank you, James Hype, for being such an incredible influence and for sharing your knowledge with aspiring producers like myself. Your passion and dedication to music are truly inspiring, and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow under your guidance. I am musician also, i play percusion with Manu Chao and he like a lot of your music and your style!! Thanks James!

Nice one! You should set the ceiling on your limiter to -0.2 as a 0dB ceiling may cause a bit of clipping on some systems. Also low cut (high pass filter) not needed - if you ever want to control 30Hz and below on the master just use pro-q3 and do a low *shelf* instead :)

I got a question regarding the AI trick: Is it really allowed to just take an official acapella, drag it thru AI and then use it in official releases on f.E. Spotify? Seems like a loophole soon to be closed if you ask me, even though I would love if that was legal. Think about all the covers/remixes you could do ... .
