Loved the art! I noticed when recreating that you may have forgotten to say what color you're using at 27:30 when choosing the red. Can be figured out later in the video but thought I should mention for future artists. He chose the fifth color on the bottom row. Thanks for the tutorial!

I got in trouble a lot in school for drawing, my parents threaten me if I ever drew again and so i gave up drawing in my teens. Now i'm 37yrs old with a respark in interest in art but im very rusty. Its my 3rd day using procreate and WAY more complex than just a pencil. I have a lot to learn lol. Ps. My wife was blown away by the portrait. Thanks for the tutorial!

this is first time I’m holding the device in my hands in my whole life, and 2nd week of trying procreate, as well as tutorials….And that was an amazing experience ! Of course results can’t be compared to a professional, but still I’m shocked that the result is good enough for me, that looks nice and live, and just wow! Also you are learning to understand some basic painting concepts while having such a fun ! Thank you!

You create beautiful art and make it seem easy to do so! True experienced artistry. I just got an 13" iPad which I hope to begin trying to create art as well. But I'm really a beginner at it. I like Procreate as it seems simple (interface) and unintimidating yet powerful enough to create the detailed art that you create. If there are videos/tutorials you'd recommend for beginners on Procreate, I'd appreciate a pointer to them. Thanks!

I love this tutorial, it is easy to follow, plus we don't have to download or buy some brushes somewhere, like in other tutorials. I am having an hard time tho, because my brushes and pen pressure aren't behaving the same as your, Sir. I am a noob when it comes to modify brushes, it would be really awesome and helpfull, if you could share your pressure sensitivity and brushes adjustments you made, so we can do it too and follow along. 🙏

Do you have an updated guide I tried one of you earliest videos on candles flames and the technique’s of dropping colors into a new pallet didn’t work the last guide I can see was was 5X 3 yrs ago we are now running 5.9 is your guides still relevant today. Or has the all the most recent updates changed things? I was having trouble with the color swatches
@JamesJulier-Artist6 ай бұрын
I don’t have an updated guide, most things are fundamentally similar, but if you are having trouble then I suggest sticking with the more recent tutorials
@jmurray20186 ай бұрын
@@JamesJulier-Artist thanks that’s what I thought but I worked out the swatch thing in my versions you no longer have to hold the color and drag it down into the pallet u just make the color and tap on any space in the swatch pallets and the color appears. I do want to use later videos but I want to go through the same journey as you that way I get to be better so I’m working my way through your videos from the beginning. I’ve just completed the matchstick to the side with the flames going up. So I’ve learned to pinch all the layers together and smudge on separate layers. It so much fun. Bob Ross would love your helpful videos your awesome 🙌

I’m having the same issue. My softbrush airbrush doesn’t cover the box in white even at 100%. It’s only a small circle
@kristiedonahue14106 ай бұрын
I had to change the scatter under the shape that’s how I got it to go larger just for anyone else who has this issue so go under taper to shape shape behavior is going to need to be larger in order to have the brush go spray at a wider angle it is not just the same when you use what is downloaded.

Maybe take a look into if you are using dynamic brush scaling? Try w it on and off and see if that helps: start a project, tool icon on top left, prefs, dynamic brush scaling.

I really don’t understand. I reset my brushes and follow the strokes exactly and still I can’t get any of them to look like yours. This video was also really hard to follow along with. You shifted colors multiple times at the end and cut out when you switched so I don’t know which colors they are as they look different on the screen I’m watching than they do on my iPad.
