Having owned a Audi S6 V10, i can say it was a joy to own. Subtle but scary. Classy but crazed. The sound of the straighpipe 5.2 V10 N/A revving to 8k is the stuff of gods. No turbos to get in the way, just straight displacement. Gutted when i sold it. Which brings me onto to why I sold it. The engine is so big that to do alot of the work you’ll have to drop the engine. £2k quote to repair a flexipipe.

C-5 vette...cool and cheap to maintain! Its a simple 350 chevy and nothing "special" with the mechanisms, brakes and oil changes can be done in a garage.
@gyllessmyth19 күн бұрын
As others have noted, there's a reason for the steep depreciation on these. My experience with a couple follows. Someone I know drove a Quattroporte for a few years; the first time it needed a significant service, the total to get the car sorted came to $13K (USD). And that wasn't anything major, just little things which, on a car like that, add up ($1,200 for this, $900 for that, etc.); pretty soon you're looking at a five-figure service bill. Additionally, up until several years ago, the only place to get a Maserati serviced in the area was the dealership, so unless you know you have independent options nearby, realize that a dealer may be your only service option if you go with lower-volume manufacturers. As for Mercedes Benz, back when cars relied on mechanical engineering, MB was without peer, but since entering the computerized world, reliability isn't what it used to be. The CL is the coupe-bodied version of the S-class, which is MB's technological flagship, which means a) stuff will eventually stop working correctly and b) when it does, it is overly complex and expensive to remedy. Given the option, I'd sooner own a C209-era CLK500, CLK550, or CLK55; same era, similar looks, and great to drive, but without 75% of the costly systems that eventually fail. I bought a CLK55 with 60K miles on it and drove it to 135K over seven years and it's still the most reliable and least expensive to maintain car I've ever owned (your experience may vary). Finally, realize that when you're looking at a Maserati, Jaguar, AMG, or any exotic at an incredibly depreciated price, especially if it's a four- or five-owner (or more) car, the reason for the price may be because it has either deferred maintenance to be done and/or an issue that is expensive enough to fix that the owner would rather just unload the car. A $30K Bentley GT or Aston Martin DB7 is a $20K service waiting to happen.
@Dennis-du4jh12 күн бұрын
Theses are all great options, but you forgot to mention that these are only for diy mechanics that aren't afraid of any repairs. To have these maintained by a shop would be catastrophic

@@jamesmarbles Good question actually it is possible to bring a car from abroad but this consumes a lot of procedures and time. 1- The vehicle must stay in the country where it is purchased for 185 days 2- When the vehicle arrives in the country, since the vehicle depends on the place where it was purchased it can never belong to Turkey and its license plate cannot be changed with the TR plate. 3- Every 2 years, the vehicle must stay in the country where the vehicle is purchased you must return and spend 185 days and also pay taxes every 2 years for the vehicle to stay in the country If it cannot stay abroad for 185 days, you will be fined and your vehicle will be banned from traffic. 4- The vehicle It needs to be invoiced when entering customs, so you will still pay all kinds of taxes :), so you have to take your vehicle back abroad and then bring it back, which saves you both time and money, and my 2- example ruins the whole plan seriously in the past 5-6 years ago when the TL was still valuable and taxes had not skyrcketed we could have easily owned a car but unfortunately the state has a very bad leader, whereas Turkey is already a rich country but you see :(

I just checked the EU prices, chosen the cheapest cars without damage and known problems, also filtered out the suspiciously cheap cars.. 1) Jaguar XKR --> 18.600 EUR / 15.400 GBP. --> Under 10K? No. 2) BMW F10 550i --> 7.900 EUR / 6.500 GBP --> Under 10K? Yes. (However, not really cool) 3) Mercedes CL500 --> 12.000 EUR / 9900 GBP. --> Under 10K? Barely yes. 4) Maserati Quattroporte (videos keep switching between pre-FL and FL variants...) --> 13.000 EUR / 10.800 GBP --> Under 10K? No 5) Mercedes Cls 55 AMG --> 16.000 EUR / 13.300 GBP --> Under 10K? No. 6) Audi S5 --> 8500 EUR / 7000 GBP --> Under 10K? Yes. (However, still suspiciously cheap, whatever) 7) Nissan 370Z --> 15.000 EUR / 12.400 GBP --> Under 10K? No. (You cannot even find a proper 350Z under 10K, not a 370.) 8) BMW 435d --> 13.000 EUR / 10.800 GBP (With 380.000 kms in it) --> Under 10K? No. (However, diesel coupé is not cool) 9) Bentley Conti GT --> 23.000 EUR / 19.000 GBP --> Under 10K? Definitely No lol 10) Audi S6 --> 10.000 EUR / 8.700 GBP (with LPG) --> Under 10K? Yes. And these are the cheapest options! Which still clearly not recommended to buy. You also show us the cheapest ads, without reading the description... Meanwhile I did this research, the cheapest cars have motor, transmission, air-suspension problems... Or they are japan import, was hit by a train, "upgraded" to LPG, or something shit. Overall, I think this list is kinda misleading. Or at least with EU view.
