Get Castlevania: Bloodlines for Sega Genesis amzn.to/2paNoaF
Full playthrough of Castlevania: Bloodlines for Sega Genesis. This playthrough was recorded March 28th, 2017 by Mike Matei. Developed by Konami, Castlevania: Bloodlines is one of my favorite Sega Genesis games. It has an excellent soundtrack composed by Michiru Yamane (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night) which gives it an appropriately styled atmosphere.

OK, the environment effects are definitely impressive: knocking down the pillars to walk on them in Atlantis, the Minotaurs _grabbing_ the pillars to use as weapons! That's so cool!

there is a code where whenever you get the fully upgraded weapon it plays music from the classic games "Enter the options menu. Set 05 as the BGM (background music) and 073 as the SE (sound effects) selections. Press Start to begin game play. Now once you fully upgrade your whip/ spear alternate tracks will play. These tracks include: Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears" But there are more songs, I can't remember which ones off the top of my head though

Did you know that anyone who used the Vampire Killer that isn't from the Belmont bloodline will have their life energy sucked out dry by the whip? This is the reason why John Morris dies after the end of this game, continuing the whip to Jonathan Morris in Portrait of Ruin. Mike's skill in gaming get him killed in the end.

nice to hear some credit finally given to the Genesis from an otherwise nintendo-focused outlet. I grew up with genesis (and nes) but really didn't play this one (or his other favorite TJ&E) until much later and I still knew the system was great. snes had higher specs, but unless you're talking about some sports title or rpg you really liked, it's usually a false comparison between some ports that were on both systems (usually favoring nintendo with an earlier release and more content and marginally higher graphical qualities but slower speed) that fanboys use to say snes was "better". there is a certain muffled midi-esque quality to a lot of the snes sound that took some getting used to. had sega managed themselves better they might have finally won the console wars, though microsoft and sony would have been stiff competition. after all, the most popular consoles weren't always the ones with the highest specs
