Fan from Japan here. The snake like enemy in KikiKaikai is a monster (Yokai) from Japanese folklore that’s a woman with a long neck and is often called RokuroKubi. The title of the game KikiKaikai roughly translates to Mysterious World of Monsters

its mainly because the letter L doesnt really exist in japan. They usually use R instead. Because its hard to tell whats an actual R, and whats replacing an L, it's common for Ls to always be used.

If you get the chance, I'd highly recommend going back to Hat Trick Heros (known as Euro Football Champ in the UK, and presumably Europe). Not for the football/soccer. But you realise they have included beat em up mechanics in the game. Which makes it a much more fun experience, especially when finding the most creative ways to get players sent off for fouls.

But by night, their heads detach from their neck smoothly from their bodies and they fly about in search of human prey. These heads attack by screaming to increase fright , then closing in swiftly and biting their victims.

@@JaredConnell He did an overly-long parody of the Pink Floyd's The Wall movie where it showed that he doesn't understand a single thing about what Roger Waters was trying to say with the original The Wall album, coupled with his usual self-indulgent, awful singing and jokes that go on for too long, summing up with the review portion of the nearly hour-long "review" video amounting to "It's okay". Also, Cory Taylor from Slipknot was somehow roped into it. It and its accompanying album are often cited as the absolute worst thing that the Nostalgia Critic has made.

As a new Zealand citizen, I can definitely say kiwis do indeed shoot bow and arrows, smoke cigarettes and and fly on geese. Frozen whales also are existing creatures and they are extremely common. It's almost guaranteed to spot one when you are looking into the ocean.

The “snake” at 12:52 is actually Rokurokubi, which is a Japanese yōkai. They look almost completely like humans with one of two differences. There is a type whose neck stretches and another whose head detaches and flies around freely. Just wanted to point that out, still a great vid Nerd!

Phoenix’s sound design is so shrill because the audio circuitry on the game’s hardware was basically thrown together from spare parts-the classical music that plays at the beginning actually comes from the sound chip for a musical doorbell!!!

Gun Frontier is one of my favorite Taito games. I know it's not for everyone, but there's just something about shooting giant gun robots as a weird biplane that gets me.
