One of my favorites, and my heart aches when I hear this song. Such a melancholic 80s melody and uptempo at the same time. No wonder I love this, been a fan of A-ha and Crowded House since the 80s. I hear their echo in this song. I also love the fact that it is telling a story. The whole album is, I love it!! ❤

I almost view it as a double edged sword. Where brandon is wondering what his life would be like if he chose to live a simpler quieter life. I also found a lot of joy in the song in a weird way. Like the person was ready to see what was out there.

Kind of like how the The Smiths juxtaposed an upbeat melody with sad lyrics. There’s a really great video of this on soro films channel - where BF’s performance really highlights the raw emotions of this song. Love this song. Love this direction.
