The El Camino was Chevy's answer to the Ranchero. In 1957 Ford has a surplus of Ranch Wagons that weren't selling, so they brought them back to the factory and made them into Rancheros. They sold like hotcakes, and after Chevy saw their success they came out with the El Camino in 1959. So Chevy copied Ford, that's how they both came about.

have you had to fix foil windows that had either started to peel off or have bowed out a little in the middle? would love to see a tutorial on that, since they can get fogged up so easily if you use the wrong type of glue

Yes, was going to discuss it in follow up repair vids. Luckily, the Ranchero doesnt suffer from the window issue. The flatter the window, the better off it is.

Still in the market for a BOS '79 Ford Ranchero very sad to see the company go I have several BOS models have a 53 Chrysler d'Elegance a 60 8 Ford Thunderbird a 62 Chrysler Newport wagon and a three Chrysler Newport sedan and finally the original and Extremely ,next to impossible to find '1967 Cadillac Eldorado. Coupe. Al great sealed resin models but fragile.

We sold out of the Rancheros. But always keep an eye out on Model Car World. They still produce a trickle of BOS cars and can re-release older models in new colors. They just put up their BlackFriday sale too.
