Great video! Something about this wedge reminds me of the golf informercials you see about the “perfect wedge for people who hate their wedges!” It does everything: Sand! Dirt! Cart paths! Cactus! Tall rough! Lol! Seriously though, it looks like a great product for people who struggle with around the greens. AND, there are a lot of people like that out there! Don’t think I could game a lob wedge I couldn’t open up, though! So it’s likely not for me! Besides I’m LEFT HANDED and they don’t make it in lefty! On another note: I’ve just recently put a 58* TM HIGH-Toe wedge in the bag and I’m loving it! What really stands out is that I have more control with it than with anything else I’ve ever tried. Not sure if it’s the KBS hi-rev shaft, the head or more likely, combination of both but I’ve never had more confidence hitting all types of shots with a lob wedge before! This one is staying in the bag!

This is going in my bag along with the TM 56 mill grind 2.i also have the Callaway 64 sure out which is amazing out of bunkers, deep rough and even when the ball is completely covered by the water the sure out is amazing.

Another great review James, I find it kind of funny to see the big companies starting to seemingly copy some of the one off "gimmick" clubs. Maybe my thought process is wrong but I carry a 54 and 60 and would be more interested in this tech in my 54 so that when I need to come up fast I can open up my 60 but then could use the 54 for more distance from sand and easier chips from thick rough. Your mid handicap bunker lesson video has made a night and day difference in my ability and confidence to get out so thanks for that as well.

Most forgiving sand wedge is the Giant Niblick Sand Wedge by Wishon Golf. It is 3 times the size of a standard wedge. I knew a guy who had one, it looked ridiculous but no denying how good he was out of the bunker and really deep rough.

I think it could benefit high handicap players because they don't need to change their technique for one type of shot. But for better players who are used to opening the face in the bunker I think would struggle because they would have to change their stroke on bunker shots.

Looks great for certain courses. Wonder how it will work with Texas tight lies. Like to see u on a links type course in the summer. You call mark a mid-handicap golfer. What do you call mid handicap? I don't see him breaking 85 at my course from the blue 6700 yds mostly due to distance but the greens are hard and usually around 1o.5-11 they can get real fast when it's hot and crusty. He hits the ball pretty good I am just trying for a frame and f reference? As usual love your stuff.

Pretty sure my PM19 58 has 14* of bounce and its grinded to allow for opening the face. Like a fatter Vokey M grind. Like cheating out of the bunker. I played Vokey for many years but now have the PM19 in 54-58 and likely not going back. I tried the original Hi-Toe but didn't like it. Seemed too low bounce for my swing. May hit a few shots with it but doubt it beats out my current setup bc they're so similar.

Peter Molyneux Because TM only does a so-so job of supporting lefties. It’s really frustrating. They’ve even stopped selling the GAPR LO for lefties too. I used to have one so I KNOW they used to sell it to lefties! It’s no longer in their catalog, though! That’s a new kind of insult I hadn’t experienced before.
@petermolyneux95445 жыл бұрын
@@richardsdiaz1 Actually, I may be doing TM a disservice. Their catalogue does list the 60 in LH. Just seems that local stockists don't have them, but that's fairly standard. When I went to one of the biggest for a putter, they had a huge choice in RH and ONE only in LH.

With 15* of bounce, it might still have to be opened a bit in soft bunkers. I noticed your sand shots came out pretty low and a tad short. My SW has 14* of bounce, so I keep the LW at the lowest bounce I can, 4-6 degrees, so I have one club for "soft" and one for "tight." This Big Foot design philosophy has been what PING has been doing for *decades* with the wedges that are matched to their iron sets (G2, G5, G20, etc.). As part of their "game-improvement" sets, the Sand and Lob wedges that mate with the irons have had very wide soles and enormous amounts of bounce. PING doesn't stamp this info on the club itself, so you have to go to their website to get the info. I believe that a G10 Lob Wedge that I picked up had EIGHTEEN degrees of bounce, and a very wide sole. Impossible to open the face, even in the sand. A PING G2 Gap wedge I owned had FIFTEEN degrees of bounce!
