My idea of a good time! I truly love that Tuba Skinny exists in this world today...gives me faith in the future of music

Many thanks, James. 'What If We Do?' was composed in 1929 by James P. Johnson and Clarence Williams. In Tuba Skinny's performance, it is played in the key of B flat. If you would like to hear the words (sung on the original by Katherine Henderson), go to kzbin.info/www/bejne/epWnemRphrOUbKc . Katherine sang in in the key of C and also included a 16-bar Verse (which Tuba Skinny omit). For the small number of people who welcome help when looking under the bonnet, here's today's Tuba Skinny arrangement: 00:07 The band plays through this 32-bar a-a-b-a tune for the first time. 01:15 The tune is played for the second time, with Barnabus taking the lead. 02:22 The tune is played for the third time, with Craig and Shaye trading fours over the first 16 bars and then combining beautifully over the second 16. 03:31 The tune is played for the fourth time, with Todd playing the first 16 bars and the guest banjo player Maxwell the final sixteen. 04:38 An ensemble chorus with a pleasant rallentando to finish. So: in total we hear (5*32) = 160 bars of music.

Molt bé, però en Max no toca el banjo...

@@lluisfontrodona5094 Max (Bien-Kahn) is a very good player of the banjo, but in this performance he plays the guitar; and the banjo is played by the guest musician Maxwell.

Such great continuity between the players. One slides into the next; keeping the ambience together. Great experience together.

Thanks a lot! Many wonderful moments this record. I especially liked the exchange of fours between Craig and Shaye, which turned into their joint playing - 2:22.

Thanks, a great performance. The noisy ambiance seems to think: " what of we do "

Mauch thanks dearest James. Yes that is indeed a special wonderful tune. I remember me that the band played it at the Starlight Lounge in January 2020. One of the most wonderful sets with Maria Muldaur and other outstanding guests. But this performance is wonderful too. Todd solo part is awesome. Thank you so much. Best wishes to you and have a great time. Dave 👋

I remember that night at the Starlight Lounge fondly. I had a pleasant conversation with Maria Muldaur between sets. I also remember it because it was the last time I saw the band live in a club before Covid hit and shut everything down.

People yelling over the band have no class. Step outside and let others enjoy the music
