Played chimes for this years ago as a freshman in high school and I've been looking for a recording this arrangement ever since... goosebumps every time. Just beautiful.

I’m practicing this song rn and I’m a freshman trumpet in highschool. I love this song so much

Does anyone hear "Danny Boy" being played around 5:01 over the melody? The harmony is beautiful! To me it sounds like a beautiful theme of commiseration between the Irish and Scottish at the end, through their similar histories of hardship and suffering. Bravo for this, Ticheli. It's simply beautiful.

@@garlic_bread_toast4403 i played this in my senior year in highschool. it's very subtle, but its also in 2nd trumpets. I had to drop to 2nd chair for that part bc the freshmen and sophmores couldn't figure it out for some reason.

Its not the notes that make this peice difficult. Its expressing the emotion. Anyone can learn to play something like this technically but only a few can find the correct emotions. Excelent job.

I love this version! I played this at Honor Band my sophomore year, but I didn't realize it was by Frank Ticheli! His Loch Lomond is by far my favorite arrangement I've ever heard, especially when he includes Danny Boy in the final movement, I guess you could say it is... Both of them my favorite songs; put them together and you get magnificence.

I'm of Irish and Scottish descent on my mother's side. So this song is very important to me. Also, in Band, I'm playing Ticheli's recording of Shenandoah. If anyone knows a good vocal recording of this, I would be ever so grateful for the information, on Shenandoah. Also, to the Jewish people of the world. I apologize for the President's conduct towards your own, and towards the Jews as a whole. I support Israel wholeheartedly.
