Whenever Rita behaves a bit nasty just push at her softly and let her back up one or two steps. That's all you need to do. Horses usually don't like to walk backwards cause it's the only direction they can't see where they're stepping, and this way you're telling them you're the one in charge. There's no need to be rude if she misbehaves, only tell her you control her feet and she'll not chase you anymore. It's easy when you know what to do and she'll become soft and trusting. For horses their leader is their protector and by telling them to be able to move their feet you tell them you're able to protect them out in the wild, that's why hierarchy is so important for them. She'll trust her leader with her life and will become a soft and nice horse as long as she knows who's in charge ❤

OMG!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😳 I had to stop about a minute and a half into it. I couldn't stop laughing. The way Trixie was sitting, even with her 'arm' up on the center console armrest, and then looking over her shoulder at Jami standing in the doorway..... it was too much. I couldn't stop laughing. And then, Trixie, being the VERY smart girl she is, puts her head on Jami's shoulder and I was a goner. THAT was SOOOOOO funny!!!! As for who gets moved where - I believe that you all, as a collective group, will do what is best for the animals AND the properties. Some people forget that the properties are living things as well and, as such, must be cared for properly. I know you all will make the move that is best for all concerned. And Lester, I was so happy to see Rita following you around, just to be with you. Not biting. Not pushing or nudging. Just to be with you and you weren't even speaking Spanish to her!!!! Thank you for showing the fencing work that LE and Megan have done. They don't always get the credit they deserve from some of the viewers. Unfortunately moving the cattle panels down will just mean more opportunity for Starla to get her head stuck.😂 I think it's a good idea some of the goats go to LHL whilst the pasture heals. It's ok that Rita follows you. And if at any point you feel like she is about to do something, because her ears are back, just turn to face her and walk towards her. You can even get her to back up a bit so that YOU are moving HER feet. It's literally no different than when you made her walk on long lines, or lunged her. And actually those are way more "mean" (based on what you consider to be mean) than making her back up off of you. If you do make her back up, she is still going to want to be around you, maybe even more so, because you will be more of a leader in her mind (because that is what leaders in a herd do) and there is safety in that. I think what I and other experienced horse people don't get is you treat the longhorns in a particular way and are not afraid to get after them and make them back up off of you, well, except for Dani and Ruby, but you won't do that with Rita when that is exactly what she needs you to do.

My dad had a Labrador dog, Sam. He was such a big part of our family I actually thought he was my brother lol I was an only child. One day my.mum went to get in the car and said...do we have to bring Sam, he was in the back smiling away LOL. Mum continued..If Sam goes , I'm not going. Dad didn't miss a.beat , he said... Sam you can get in the front , mummy isn't coming today hahaha They were married for 65 yrs before their passing. Sam lived till he was 15yrs old. I still miss them all 😢

I agree with you. I know Ringo has a hard time with the hills, but last summer he seemed to get stronger and stronger. Also, Ringo loves to forage better than anything. Think quality of life. As it appears, he doesn't have a quality of life laying around in the barn with the pigs. I'd rather he be happy. I know that Lester and Jami love him so much ❤️ Maybe Lester could drive Ringo back up the hill in the mornings? I don't know if that's an option or not.

Norma here. Aww, Trixie was so adorable on Jami’s lap and I love how Lex brings Kippy and Chia with him. I love that you’re taking your goats back to LHLs and that the others will be rotated out of that pasture. It’s become overcrowded. I wish you could take Tillie with you too. Ringo is better off staying. As you know, he loves to hang with the pigs and can’t handle the hilly ground. Rita was very interested in that drill. Glad she wasn’t the one to find it.
