I LOVE JAMCO!!!! I hope it survives as a dramatic show at this time in the world of Covid and Black lives matter...I'm biting my nails till Fall line up. I love the dialogue between Erin and Jaime at the end where Erin is enumerating "the obvious" to Jaime... I think that was the turning point in the future! So glad!

Sterling performance from the Sgt. One of those actors that are always seen in supporting roles, but nobody remembers their name. Definitely a Brooklyn accent. A guy I worked with who was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I always kidded that he was born in the third largest foreign country in the USA! He kidded me that CT might be admitted into the USA some day soon.

I missed it, Angelica, but I saw the short on here. Typical Eddie, and typical Jamie. Both totally in character. And as she says," you're not my type, you're a real boy scout, but you're the greatest person I have ever met, and you're the best friend I have [crack in the voice, at the edge of tears]." They've been through a lot together, they've both had to deal with crushing blows in their personal lives, on top of starting out at a new job, and they've both been there for the other when the other needed them, and haven't hesitated to have the other's back. Under that kind of stress, they have to either end up being in love, or hating the other person.

Roger that. I have a feeling, however, they have only seen the beginning of issues. I just pray it's not something serious, like one of them getting killed.

Big Sister is telling Little Brother he and his partner are in love, and were she to have such a relationship, she wouldn't be sitting there with him, talking about it. Problem is, he is constantly telling everybody they aren't in love, so much so, he's starting to believe his own lies. Look at the way he turns his head away; it's like his consciousness just caught up to the truth of what Erin is saying. Great video; great balance of music and scenes, bringing the viewer up to the crux of Jamies' dilemma. Great job, Mat.

Mat, the more I watch this one, the more I become addicted to it. You have picked out scenes that I am continually finding new subtle moments in, actions by the one intended for the other, finally summarized by Big Sister Erin, who has found out from someone that these two have a torrid love affair boiling under the cover on the kettle, and when she broaches the subject to Jamie, he explodes into denial (knowing damn well it could ruin the relationship he wants so much since Sid left him and his Shield and gun because she finally realized she would always play "second fiddle" to them, and she would not be able to change his mind about, maybe, going back into law, b/c she can't accept what Linda told her about Linda accepting the terror every time word goes out that a cop has been shot - sad, b/c so many spouses love their mates so much, they are willing to be the "other woman" when their mate is married to their job, willing to have only a small amount of his/her love, than have none at all, putting their lover's well being before their own (the definition of love), akin to a partner taking a bullet intended for their partner, or a Soldier or Marine throwing themselves on an enemy grenade to save their comrades, as the Bible says, "greater love hath no man, than to give up his life for his friends". He calms her down, and she turns him up; something about "opposites attracting". You've called it a "Tribute"; I call it a "Love Story". In truth, your vid is both, like a piece of artwork that needs to be viewed both from a distance, and up close.

Some wisdom from Big Sister, that "gets to the heart of the matter:.

While I agree that the episodic family dinner scenes do magic to hold the show together in a way I can't remember any other show, it also hit me how they have covered the viewpoint of a family from each age group: the two young boys, still "wet behind the ears"; Niki, the young girl who is becoming a beautiful young woman, at the age of 14 and going on 40, and doing that in the background of divorced parents and a family whose business is danger and whose cologne is testosterone; Jamie, a beat cop who shows the audience what it's like for a young adult to have the responsibility of upholding the law, and to deal with the earth-shaking possibility of taking a life in order to keep the law, keeping the good people safe, and putting away the bad people; the older brother and sister who have both experienced life at its worst, including losing their eldest brother, and are fighting to advance in the family profession in the way their oldest brother would have wanted them to; the Police Commissioner who has the job of dealing with the politics, when it is obvious he would rather be back on the beat, in his dress blues; finally, the dinosaur grandfather, the cop from the "good old days", whose wisdom and advice is always invaluable. Well thought out, and it will be interesting to see where this almost real-life family is going to go.

Thank you for you well thought out response. I agree with all of it. This show has a little bit of everything, and by the way, Jamie and Eddie so like each other. When you have your ADA sister, and your boss, who is a Sergant, asking you do you have feelings for your partner, it's going to be hard to lie to both of them because way deep down, he does have feelings for his partner, and he knows it. In a way they fight like a couple sometimes LOL, plus they seem to know each other really well.
@JoeInCT4188 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Both realize they have an enormous con to pull over the eyes of all they live and work with, because the reward is the time together; for Jamie, a younger female who partners with him on almost a daily basis, filling a need in his life from the loss of his oldest brother, his lovely fiance, and the lack of a solid relationship with Danny, because previously they only had contact through their deceased older brother; for Eddie, a strong male figure she needs but lost when her Dad destroyed their world, and Jamie fills that need with his solid character and strong physical presence, both having been lost from her life when her Dad was convicted, disgraced, and incarcerated. On top of it all, the hormones are raging inside them, and sitting 3 feet away from each other for 8 to 12 hours a day twists the knob down to simmer, and their working together in shared danger twists the dial back up. Will be interesting to see where it goes for them.

HERE HERE! Outstanding reponse Joseph. I love detail oriented reponses, and everything. Jamie is so QUIET, he is not a person that I would describe as VOCAL, Danny and Frank THEY ARE VERY VOCAL, I actually think Danny would make a very good police commissioner because they both seem to have the fire. Jamie is just too quiet, he's too nice, and in a position like police commissioner, it's a very stressful job. You have to deal with all kinds of politics of police work, you have to work with the mayor, you have to work with a lot of people. Danny I believe could do that. I don't think Jamie could do that. Again, he's just too nice, too quiet. But he may surprise people because he damn sure is the most patient, and understanding family member to me. Jamie is the best driver in the family, no doubt about it. Erin is definitely the worst driver. She is always yelling at people, there is out there, and has a the Reagan temper. Anyway, I love Eddie, and Jamie together, and they have been through a lot together. I think they are very cute together, and they always have each other's back.

I feel really bad for what happened to Eddie considering her dad when he destroyed their world, and everything. Not to mention when he got convicted, disgraced, and incarcerated. I can tell she took that really personal, and I couldn't blame her. Your father is supposed to look out for you, not disgrace you. But the chemistry is DEFINITELY there between the two, no doubt about it. Plus, I wish Danny and Jamie were closer though too. I mean the only reason they might have been closer before was because of their deceased brother. But I didn't like how Danny made fun of Jamie's police skills. Jamie was just as good a cop as Danny was, but the only thing that Danny had on Jamie was the experience. But at the end of the day, these two guys do things very differently.
@JoeInCT4188 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking how the show has been developing, and based on the way they have covered the bases, with a family member in each position of a career in law enforcement, it would create a vacuum in the position of the beat cop, which Frank says in his speech in front of Lady Liberty, is the essence of police work and maintaining order in society. So my take is, that since Nikki has already announced that she intends to follow the family devotion to being a cop, when she graduates from college, she will apply to the Academy, and when she graduates, and her grandpa welcomes her into the profession as a beat cop, Jamie and his partner will be promoted to detectives (and maybe get married and have to be given new partners), Danny will move up to Precinct Supervisor of Detectives, and Frank may continue on as PC with his entire brood of progeny following along. Erin needs a husband, and has a good shot at becoming Manhattan DA. They seem to have the formula, I guess it's just how long CBS intends for the show to go. One issue that has a great effect is how good the writing is; more than one show has lost effectiveness in the scripts, and a major actor decides to move on "for creative reasons". When the Nielson Ratings start to slip, advertising slips and net profit for the series plummets, and that usually signals the end.

There was a news bite on the Blue Bloods web site. Eddie got married recently to a fella she's been seeing for 6 years. I wish her the best of married life, and all the great things from life with her soul mate.
