Epic job Jamie. I'm getting married later this year, & have been trawling the internet for tips / speeches to get some ideas of what to say & how to structure it. This is, by some considerable margin, the best one I've seen. It's seems the best speeches aren't the ones designed from the bottom up to be a comedy routine (although this is extremely funny), but the personal ones written with your own anecdotes & home truths. There's a genuine warmth to this that's lacking in many others I've seen. I bow respectfully to a fellow geek, & offer this as thanks for the guidance (it sort of seems appropriate) "Om buhr bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah pracodayat" (sorry about the lack of accents).

I struggled with the structure for ages, but I found just writing down bits and bobs as and when they came to me meant that actually putting it together was a lot easier. Yeah, I always think it's the Best Man (or Men in my case)'s job to be the comedy act and I know Sarah really appreciated the sincerity. This is amazing. Myself and my future wife are getting married in March this year. We are having a major Geek wedding as we both love DC and Marvel and Star wars etc. This speech has given me so many idea's I thank you.
