This is WHY it's important to get a property and land re-alignment for any new homes. Clears the energy from past events/the emotional imprints from the past owners etc. One of my clients purchased a second home that had been built on a Native American Burial ground. Each time they stayed there her 3 year old daughter would have nightmares and wet the bed (Which she didn't do in their main apartment in Manhattan). Once the clearing was done. It's not about god giving one person special powers over another. Everyone has different gifts and qualities to tap into, and some can tap into these gifts more easily than others. We are all psychic, but this may be expressed in different ways such as strong intuition, a sixth sense, mediumship, etc. We also carry different gifts depending on our previous life experiences if we believe in reincarnation.
