"Any TURN fans out there?" **weak cheers and applause** If I were there, I'd be the loudest person in the crowd!

Do you know why Turn is not a popular TV series in the US? Or why AMC is contemplating on cancelling the show due to lack of audience? It's because the Yanks aren't too keen on the subject of history, including theirs.

Ricardo Agila I heard that AMC doesn't advertise it that much lol. But it's true that historical drama tv shows don't do as well in younger demographics than modern style tv shows.

+barbaro267 if the producers of the show adds a bit of high tech explosion, car chases, Marvel super heroes, and possibly change the theme song " There's snakes in the garden, blood on the grass ...." to a Kanye West rap song, then the young people of America might just start tuning in to the show. It's a fine historical series!

Ricardo Agila On the contrary. The "low popularity" of the show is a bit less black and white than the reason you gave. Plenty of youths here are very interested in history (especially our own).

I.e. some shows don't advertise as much as others. Take Hannibal (NBC) for example. It's been referred to as "the best show no one has seen." It's not because ppl don't like crime, murder, or "those types of shows." It just didn't gain much attention because of a lack of large advertisement. Also see: Black petticoat society.

As I've said before, this was one of the best shows on television. I've seen the show all the way through about 5-6 times. I watched in after it got started, started watching it on Netflix. THEN, last year, as i was doing family research (I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution) I discovered that I AM RELATED TO ABRAHAM WOODHULL!!! I was so freaking excited! I would have loved for there to have been a prequel or sequel to this show. I know it's not possible now, but I would love it!

Yeah, it does make sense if you think about it that he is an Englishman playing an American (back then they were still very closely tied to their English roots). And it's even more interesting that he pretends to be what he is in real life. I don't like how she keeps interrupting him in the beginning though, it's pretty annoying :/

Everyone in the 13 colonies were Englishmen until 1776.

Jaime Bell might be turning into American, most Englishman would call that sport football but he called it soccer.

That happens sometimes. People who live in a different culture tend to pick up on things, almost subconsciously, because they are surrounded by it. I notice some British people who say the American version of things (underwear vs pants, season vs series).

He was in an American crowd. They would've heard something different than us had he said football
