“Beware of higher interest rates and recession”
“We have on going concerns about persistent inflation”
“Stock prices are at the high end of the range”
These are some of the warnings Jamie Dimon discussed in an 80 page letter he released last week, warnings that don’t just apply to the investors of JPMorgan but are addressed to the entire world.

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $121k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

is it really worth investing in stocks in 2024, I’ve been on the sidelines watching the market for awhile and it seems to be pretty stagnant to me not that it matters because I’m in it for the long run, but how can one generate actual profit in this current market?

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Charlotte Miller.

My dogs bag of food just went up 19.2%. That sort of price increase would be unheard of 5 or 7 years ago. Prices always go up but usually by 50 cents or a dollar on something like a bag of dog food. This stuff is sold on a massive scale so even small price hike generates millions in additional revenue. Honestly dog food is a good indication of inflation because it's a recipe of different grains and meats, has to be manufactured and shipped. So the sector takes into account the cost of several commodities, labor and manufacturing cost and trucking since dog food is heavy and bulky. The official CPI is a total lie the only real question is does the FED believe its own propaganda?

Hamish, the fed doesn’t have a “2% annual inflation target”; they changed their policy in the past few years, and are now targeting 2% inflation OVER TIME. And they don’t define that. Very important datapoint.
@jonathantaylor6926

If what you are saying is true then at some point bond investors come to the same realization, and demand more yield. This is why the FED has not and will not officially change its 2% target... yields would spike and bond prices would puke before Jerome could even finish the sentence.

Also, I think the perspective of having businesses spendings solely corelating to cost of labour per productivity is paradoxal, as labours are consumers as well. Businesses have been requiring less staff overtime and at the same time returning less money to labours through salaries, investing production into b2b solutions and AI(which is likely multitudes in scale of the prev mentioned effects), therefore making their labours/consumers less capable of purchasing. So although I agree with the shallow notion, in the wide scheme of things, it misguide to drawing a hasty conclusion that is multilateral damaging and inflactionary increasing not deflationary. Less good salaries, less job opportunities, less purchassing power divided by companies marginal increase in profitability due to lesser production costs.

Define to me what is a ' very strong labor market ' ? I think we don't have a very strong labor market because labors have been continuously pressure in their income agaisn't the purchasing power. A very strong labor market would means that people would hold to their jobs for long periods and their income would suffice to purchase their first property, not to presure them out of their home rental. Its rather a very weak and fragile labor market that requires constant employee rotationing, high rates of unemployment, constant self investment and low and receading income across the board.

Hamish, your videos are ok for the most part, but there is a fatal flaw here which you and the viewers need not to be misled by. "A 2% increasing in interest rates led to a 17.5% decline in value". This characterisation, and your insinuation is ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT. The correct terminology is 200basis points , which in interest rate rise is extremely uncommon and takes a very long amount of time. In fact, the situation you described is one where interest rate rose by 5/3 = 66%, yielding the 17% decline in value. Please, no need to be alarmist and spread misinformation, educate yourself before publishing these.

Taxes are not valid if we can just print money. We either need to stay within budget and tax or just inflate the currency. Inflation is universal tax. We will need 80% inflation to get out of our debt.

The idea that the USA "can inflate way its debt" is an absurd lie. Whenever anyone makes that claim I ask a simple question- when do they plan to start doing that? Lol never because they can't and the reason is very simple... the inflation rate and yields are correlated.. if inflation is 10% nobody is loaning you money to buy a house for 9%. They won't even loan the government money for 9%... investors need positive REAL YEILD (yield - inflation rate) or they will not buy. So if the FED makes a real attempt to inflate away the debt a mortgage for a house will be 16% or 20% depending on the inflation rate and that would break everything including all banks. They would all be insolvent from massive bond losses since bond price is inverse of yield.
