This is powerful. I, too, can attest to Jamie’s kindness and generosity! When my husband was just starting his photography business, he did security for Jamie’s house. One day, Jamie asked him about his career pursuits and my husband told him. Jamie went into a production room and gifted him a Canon RF lens! Easily worth over a thousand dollars. There are so many stories of his hospitality and generosity. So glad he’s making his way back to the Lord.

Yes the special was good. I loved that he Could see that the stoke was a wake up call . When we go through man it produces and shapes us and it humbles us. I like the fact he talked about That too that he thought he was someone and lord had to show him but you can’t give yourself life. The special brung on a roller coaster of feelings.

Grace and Peace to you. Does Jamie's success please Jesus?
@dcfal817Ай бұрын
Absolutely not because his comedy is full of degeneracy

God had to remind him who is in control yet he still haven't surrender his life...😒

Are you praying for him Faith?
@Faith-D.Ай бұрын
@KayK-g6v are you praying for him.. is tactic now we used commonly whenever we see a celebrity that we admire dearly and make an idol out of but God word is very clear, no man can serve two masters it's God or not..
@KayK-g6vАй бұрын
@Faith-D. indeed we cannot serve two masters. But all of us are on a journey, and we are called to pray for others not just speak on their sin. FYI I'm not someone who follows Jamie's career so assuming he's an idol in my life is very presumptuous - simply off the back of me asking whether you are praying for him.

@@Faith-D. I'm not sure that's something we can judge from a distance.

Jamie Foxx is not walking in the ways of the Lord. He is not a minister and did not preach a sermon. Please stop.
@dcfal817Ай бұрын
Agreed
@shapingtheculturepodcast4999Ай бұрын
@@queenriri9393 I'm not saying he is a minister. You are right, his special was not a sermon, but he had sermon-like points a couple of times in his special. I appreciated his transparency and vulnerability. I celebrate his journey.
@queenriri9393Ай бұрын
@@shapingtheculturepodcast4999 No sermon like points can come out of a person who is not saved and living according to the word of God. His journey is to continue to live the way the world lives. I do not celebrate him.
@shapingtheculturepodcast4999Ай бұрын
@ I appreciate where you are coming from, but I don't think it's for us to say if someone is saved or not. I also believe in common grace. Saved or not, people can share truths about life, and God.
@queenriri9393Ай бұрын
@shapingtheculturepodcast4999 The Bible says, You Will Know Them by Their Fruits. Jamie Foxx has never confessed the Name of Jesus as his person Lord and savior so we can absolutely say he is not saved.

I just saw the special 2hrs ago with my Mom. I spent most of my time in my phone playing “Temple run” because it was so unfruitful. It’s really hard engaging in most secular comedy because the immense vulgarity and boastful behavior of sin. Although I can appreciate what Jamie Fox has done for the culture as an entertainer, most of the comedy special made me cringe. It’s glad to see God gave him a second chance at life but I hope he stops blaspheming the lord and actually devotes his life to Christ. One thing he said was “I need to be in a church that feels like church” which is a theological error. Church is not about how God appeals to my personal feelings but rather the conviction to do what is righteous and holy before his sight
@shapingtheculturepodcast4999Ай бұрын
@@dcfal817 I understand where you are coming from. I appreciate your feedback! I do agree that he was at times vulgar, and took jokes too far. However what I am celebrating is that this brother is on a journey, and it sounded like he had a true encounter with the Lord. He also made some profound statements regarding suffering, and what true success is. I believe his comments about church were regarding something different. I think he was calling out churches that don't preach the gospel. Though church is not supposed to be something that always appeases our emotions, I do understand the sentiment that not all churches feel right.
