lamarmercer2370 It was a black thing TBH, I don't care what anyone says. Plenty of other performers crossed into film, television, music, comedy back then. When Jamie did he was "trying to do too much." Just like how all the rappers used to call Kid 'n Play and MC Hammer sellouts for doing cartoons, commercials and movies. Then, even some of the cats that dissed Hammer ended up doing it smh (Ice Cube, LL Cool J, etc.) and now it's what EVERYONE does.

LOL, I love ILC but come on now. SNL is a comedic institution. ILC was nowhere near as good in the last season or two when the Wayans left because the powers-that-be started messing with the structure and forcing them to add more white performers to try and gain popularity. At its best it was more hip and did connect more to the culture at the time though.
