To any who are wondering, in case the show hasn't explicitly stated it from the man's mouth yet, Jamie offering his body to Lord John for the trade of taking care of his son was a test. If Lord John had accepted, he would have failed, fatally. He was testing Lord John's honor, as he was duty bound by bonds of marriage to take care of William, so taking Jamie would have been accepting payment for something he was already supposed to do. He basically waved the biggest possible temptation there could be to Lord John, (before anyone asks, no, I will not drop the Lord from his name at any point, he earned that with his actions) and Lord John turned it down flat, proving himself to be a man of the highest honor, therefore trustworthy of raising Jamie's son.

I love Claire and Jamie, but I think Jamie definitely has to have some sort of feelings for John. I mean, let’s be real, male friends don’t just stare longingly at each other. They’re both so giddy around each other.

Well no Jamie was never staring longingly at Lord John. There were lots of feelings conveyed in his looks but never longing for John. Both Sam and David are such fine actors, it is joy to watch them.

Maybe not in modern American male culture, but there is something called "romantic friendships" and "homosocial relationships" which were pretty much what we call bromance and sismance or intense platonic friendships, or BFF's who've gone through a lot of life-and-death and other intense life experiences together. Lord John and Jamie, if you've read the books, have gone through A LOT together, and owe each other life debts and other debts. They are also co-parents in a way, to Willie.

To all of you Mademoiselle Ruta, MsEleanorShelby, Olga Ilichena, Elaine Lay - I agree with you all. I totally think they have a special relationship and had it been for Claire Jamie may have had more than feelings towards LJG. Jamie is and always has thought of Clair and hopes still he will see her again. When LJG took him to Helwater and kept visiting I believe the friendship was sealed as Jamie knew LJG wanted to know he was safe and this adds to Jamie’s affections towards John.

I'm late, but I do think that Jamie *wanted* to love John the way that John loved him. I think he wished, when Claire was gone, that he could. But he couldn't, which is why they only remained very good friends.

Black Jack was an equal- opportunity sexual sadist. He assaulted Fergus as well as Jamie. And he also tried to sexually assault Claire twice in the storyline. BJ was obsessed with Jamie and I believe incapable of love. John truly loves Jamie and has proved it many times.
