Marlo was a great villian, just brutal. Unwavering no compromise. I originally didnt like him, he wasnt a guy I wanted to have beer with. Avon was more fluid, had a personality you could like him on some levels of humanity. Marlo was cold as a witches titty in a brass bra in December. He won me over fucking with Herc, just slapping heads in the co-op, and becoming the tyrant Avon wishes he rose to. The way he and Chris played off each other, I grew to love their time and I had initially went into it missing some original characters from the previous seasons. These guys grabbed the baton and continued to make this show incredible. I doubt anything as powerful and eye opening will be on your TV in some time. I think im on my second reply just during the pandemic. I do a full five season dump every couple of years. Brilliant.

Marlo could have ruled the streets in a different time but with pd getting more technology better forensics his brand of violence would catch up to him fast. The ending also shows how he never could have stayed quiet and went to his old ways immediately. This is a tv show not real life the writer obviously used the same exact line but the inverse intentionally and introduces Marlo after Vondas says that next season. Chris didn’t want to tell Marlo about Omar because he knew Marlo’s ego was too big and there was no way to guarantee a result when warring against Omar which is why Chris wanted to leave Omar alone in the first place. Chris’ thinking proved true as it was a child with no connection to the Stansfield crew that solved their problem. And Omar was a problem as we saw that he knew exactly where everyone was from the list in his pocket. Chris was saving Marlo. Plenty of people have managed to get heavy muscle to follow them without doing a bunch of dirty work. Marlo fed them all which is a good way to do that.

Hard to beat a homeless guy who has no connection to the game other than a blind man that it seems only Prop Joe knew about for a while. TJ Daily Marlo was ruthless he wanted the crown by any means. Avon would have to be my favorite character he had a code but still was a G.

This line would have been an all-time famous quote if it had been in a movie. "My name is my name!" The way he delivers it is amazing. The Wire is the GOAT of TV.

When I ran a shop, and my numbers dropped, I damn sure did something about it. I would've loved to seen a prequel on Marlo running a shop, and doing something about it when his numbers dropped.

Take a young guy, slight build, doesn't say much, doesn't show much emotion, isn't flashy or loud, and make him a terrifying menace on screen = Marlo Stanfield.

The best VILLAIN to ever bless the silver screen ! Straight up & down . Just like I can't see another O-Dog besides Larenz Tate for Menace , it's like for Jamie Hector as Mr. Stanfield ! Real rap .

My interpretation of this scene was that Marlo is really just a damaged child under it all. Can't stand any hits to ego, can't show any flex which might show weakness. Which is why he's so ruthless but also why can't really form any bonds with people. Notice how distant he always is, even with Chris, supposedly his 'right hand man'. And the only time he lets himself feel any emotion is here, for his slighted ego.

Y'all DEFINITELY was foul for trying to get down on Lil Mike, BUT that's one of the harsh realities of the game in real life that's barely portraye on gangsta shows... No matter how stand up, loyal, or real you are, some of your own can/will write you off just to save face or their own axxes.
