This song needs to be done on a “we are the world” scale. So many kids were found from the first version and hopefully this one. Imagine if artists would just show even one missing child or adult per video.
@tiararoxeanne13182 жыл бұрын
I love it more than We Are The World. We Are The World is always seems superficial to me. Like a white savior thing to do. (This is just my opinion. I don't mean to belittle great effort and good intention and compassion behind that song). But this song, and March March from The Chicks, somehow much more touching for me.

There are multiple places to watch this video and depending on where you're viewing it, it will show you missing kids from your area. So while there aren't a ton of kids shown, it does help a lot by showing people kids that are missing in an area near them, which makes it more likely they could be spotted. I know the version on Twitter and their main site has the geolocation tagging to do that. I don't believe that's the case here on KZbin but it's still a positive thing they're doing. The original didn't feature that many kids either, try going back and watching it now. It's about the same amount.

As a kid I loved this song for the help they were trying to get those kids. As an adult I love this song because it reflects my depression so perfectly. Knowing Dave Pirner wrote this about his own depression just shows I'm not alone even though it feels like it. Great cover/remix too. I'd say hauntingly beautiful.

I can't believe people are actually complaining about this song. meanwhile they're probably the same ones who worship ariana grande and halsey. this was was supposed to have a more mainstream sound to it and they did that effectively with the beats & harmonies. it attracts today's generation which is important because of the message of this video. they're raising awareness for these missing children and what they may have gone through or are going through. how are you going to complain about that? i think this is wonderful. if you're that worried about this video not doing enough, become an activist for the missing. there's a link in the description to help with that.

This song is actually older than 25. It came out in 1992 and I think I did see the video until the following year in 1993 and that video scared me! I wish they would make another video like this but for song about human trafficking and maybe another one about drug addiction or suicide. So that way kids and teens get the message about going through those issues. Adults could also benefit from them. Bless all of The Runaways and may they be found and returned home safely.

alright so a lot of people are commenting that the original song was better and while i’ve personally never heard it i think there was a reason they used a cover instead. making it more upbeat and “pop”-y gets it stuck in your head (especially younger viewers, who typically enjoy this kind of music) this is important to get you coming back to the video & seeing their faces again. it also appeals to younger people which is very important because a 16 y/o girl was literally found using this video- because her friend saw her and encouraged her to go home. while the original may be better (i’ll admit i have not heard it) the main idea of this video is that it shows you missing children and it’s raising awareness to get them found. you don’t need to comment that the song is bad.
