Would love it if Jamie did more informational videos. Problem in the UK is that many people opt for "light" or "diet" products thinking they are healthier. Light yoghurts, 0% yoghurts, diet hummus etc. When in reality a lot of these "light" products are more loaded with sugar and other stuff that isn't good for you. Would be good to see someone who has such strong voice and influence explain why regular hummus isn't bad and actually has a lot of good fat rather than the "low fat" hummus. Why regular yoghurt in sensible amounts is not unhealthy... and stuff like that.

Thanks for giving people options Jamie! It's always important that people understand there are alternatives to what we've been programmed to do. The amount of misinformation out here is incredible and people don't like being told that what they've been doing may not be the right thing for them, so thanks for being an informative and positive influence for as long as you have!

I agree about using white noodles for delicate sauces. And some brown noodles are very heavy, so I mix them 50%-50% yum! I also like the multi colored, green/spinach, orange/tomato, white pasta and will mix half whole wheat bread pasta to increase the fiber. Many blessings from sunny Arizona. 78/46f 🌞 today.

Spelt bread has heaps less gluten and a different types of gluten, it's basically ancient wheat, gluten free bread is awesome but expensive after awhile Injust quit bread, pasta, and rice in lieu of buckwheat, quinoa, teff and flax seeds, and lots of salad and some fruit and nuts. I skip breakfast, have coffee with organic milk or coconut cream and honey, a red apple for lunch and a big salad for dinner, (16/8 intermittent fasting). I have abs now, have put on muscle and don't work out, it's cool.

In our household we tend to do 3-4 parts white rice to 1 part brown or red rice. We would soften the brown or red rice in hot water for 30 minutes and then cook it together with the white rice. That way we can get some extra nutritional benefits without sacrificing the texture too much.

I live in North America;; Canada better than US depending where you live but what Jaimie brandished over across the pond is artisanal quality. The Wonderbread stuff that is still ubiquitous even with whole grains sprinkled throughout served as pellets my sister and I threw at each other for fun. Sourdough has the advantage of fermentation, so if you buy your bread in north America and on a budget .. seriously.

It’s all about making gradual little changes and swapouts that you can sustain! Although don’t exaggerate the benefits of dairy. For taste? -Not gonna argue. But for health? The food and gym industry are all on about yoghurt, quark, cottage cheese and whey for protein and calcium... Heavily overrated when there’s plenty of vegan options available without the downsides, almond, oats, hemp, pea, soy etc.

Wholewheat is great, and I personally love a Honey Soaked Bloomer, but eating Rye & Spelt bread will give you SO MUCH more nutrition. I make it myself with this recipe: www.thesimplelifeblog.net/single-post/2017/11/11/Making-the-switch-to-Rye-and-Spelt-flours p.s. I love the tip of using extra-virgin olive oil instead of butter.
