Megan, you are a great Mum, those people that criticize don't have any rights to give any advice unless asked. I agree with you, the last thing you need is that negativity, which doesn't help. Don't get discouraged, my daughter was very colicky for the first 3 months, I thought I would lose my mind, but once we got her formula riight at about 4 months, she was great. She turned out to be the most beautiful , talented and creative person. Believe me, I understand how stressful this time can be. You both are doing so well, on so little sleep too. My GP and Gyne both told me that babies in the womb hear everything and they are used to noises. My auntie had a boy a couple of weeks later and they tip toed around and if you was not whispering the parents said hush, as lloyd grew more problems came, moody, and eould only eat wheatabix for every meal for years. My son completely the opposite. I took him to get checked for deafness. I have hearing loss and was getting more and more worried. He was fine, the dog barking, vacuuming, nothing he did not even stir. My son was prem and only weighed 3lb 3oz he loved his food. I think if you start off with normal routine and it's working for you all don't worry about ridiculous comments. I think little Roo will love you singing to him. The lack of sleep is a nightmare, if he is unsettled try a little bit of rusk in his last bottle. I did it with my children and it really helped. It was the health visitor that thought they were hungry at night is when they grow apparently. I know guidelines change but some I don't agree with like laying baby on their back. Megan & Jamie, You are Rupert’s parents and you are going to do what is best for your son. I have three daughters and my youngest was a screamer and would point to what she wanted. That was hard because when you are out in public place and you feel bad, but they say something or make a rude comment it gets to you after a while. People making comments need to be quiet because you need to talk loud, make noise, sing, & vacuum too. I did that with all of my kids. They need to be Surrounded by noise to get used to it. You are great parents 💙💙 Rupert is the LUCKIEST little guy to have you as his mommy & daddy. I wish people would only give parenting comments/advice if it's requested. I was lucky to be involved in a playgroup when my first son was an infant. I could ask the other moms any questions I had. We all built each other up and it was IDEAL when I was a new mom!💙👶🏻💙
