First of all - congrats on 10k subs mate! So well deserved! Second, great video and the idea of it! I always find it interesting the camera choice of Leica employees. Of course Ivor had the unicorn choice - such a beauty! If had the money, although I have already quite some money invested in Leica :D - I would pick a Leica M11M, a la carte with black paint with a 35mm Summicron black paint. I know Leica is able to custom make that, but yeah that money price tag xD Great job as always Jamie! As another video idea with Red Dot Cameras, which is not related to photography: Other products of Leica such as the binoculars behind you or watches + whats special about them.

SL 2 with M lenses is hard to beat especially with the grip attached - Pro here 35 years - I use the SL as my day to day but in the studio sorry but we are Hass X series all the way - love Leica but it can be a bit 'precious' to some

@@jamie.dop_ I love fast glass. So when I switched to the Leica M ecosystem, the Noctilux line but my wallet into shock, my marriage in jeopardy, but my head in a swirl. So yet, I own the 0.95, 1.2, and the 75mm (which is my favorite M focal length) f1.25. They of course all express differently from the other. But the 50 1.2 has an expression that really appeals to me and what I’m trying to paint. I also enjoy the 24 3.8, the 35 Steel Rim, the 50 Lux, and all five APO lenses. And no sir, I’m not a protog. @ never heard such a great set of lenses. I’m a passionate about photography and maybe one day I’ll look to work on more professional work. I am a filmmaker and love the challenges that brings as photography is simple. I can walk out the door with one camera and lens. With film, you need lights, batteries, lenses a crew etc! I'm the fabled budget Leica shooter lol. So I'm on the M240. I went Leica to abandon modern bodies, as I was discarding most their features in pursuit of simplicity. Leica is built for just that, and the m240 delivers precisely. Currently I'm on the Voigtlander 28/2 Ultron ii. Can't imagine a much better street setup!

My favourite set up is the MP240 and the Voigtlander Color-Skopar 35mm f/2.5. I use the thumb grip and then handgrip. Its a brick but it feels amazing int he hand and its compact with that lens.

M2 BP and 21 f4 Super Angulon with finder. For digital Leica, M10-D because it feels like a Leica analog camera in the truest sense- that faux advance lever is really a brilliant thumb rest. For lenses, this one has an equally rare but brilliant 1951 Heligon all brass 35 f2.8 rigid tiny lens.

@@jamie.dop_ Rodenstock made the lens in L39 (Leica Thread Mount) and can be used on a M body with an adapter. Its not too dissimilar to the Leitz 35mm 3.5 Summaron from the late 40s/early 50s. Very compact and decent performance due to Double-Gauss optical layout. You don't need me to tell you i love 40s 50s 60s glass on modern digital M cameras (I said it in the video) - Ash

with my girlfriend being my favorite subject in our day to day adventures, the 28 is easiest to capture a moment of her as she’s typically right next to me. The 50 is just too tight during those times. When I take a step back, that 50 is GORGEOUS. Within the last few days, I’ve been really thinking about trading in the 28 elmarit for the summicron though. Anyhow, love the videos, man. One of my favorite Leica creators.

No pictures taken yesterday; lovely morning sun with frost. Took my camera but forgot to refit the SD card into camera. I then badly fitted the base plate and promptly dropped it without realising. £120 for a new one…sigh!

For me M11 + 35mm 1.4 close focus: M11 for its amazing sensor and 60MP resolution, which allows me to crop when needed. The 35mm is the most versatile for me, and I find the Summilux more distinctive and full of character compared to the Summicron 28mm. Why go for the latest technology instead of a camera or lens with more character? Simply for the versatility. I can do almost anything I want with this setup. However, it’s not my favorite lens in the lineup.

@@jamie.dop_the m4 is very very very similar to m4 but with the lightmeter. the m4 is smoother as it doesnt have the motor drive otherwise pretty much the same. i have tried tens of lenses in the last decade and i stick to nokton 35 1.4ii as it performs very similar to simmulus steelrim and the ultrons are similar to newer summicrons.

@ , agreed it’s a pretty rare lens. I moved from 28mm (Summicron) to 24mm with the 24/3.4 Elmar about 3 months ago. Fell completely in love with the 24mm FOV - such a storytelling/reportage FL. So, 6 weeks later I bought a mint pre-owned 24/1.4 Summilux. Such an amazing lens! Still got the 24/3.4 as it’s a really stellar lens too (and very compact). I got the 50mm Summilux ASPH CF version too. So, 24/50 is my ride and die kit now. But if I could only have one 24/1.4 + M10M would be it. I could happily shoot the rest of my life and miss nothing. @ yeah I’m shooting wider every year. When I’m 80 I’ll be shooting a 5mm 🤣 I have used the 21 lux and loved it. I do wish it was 0.45 close focus rather than 0.7 though. How can we see your stuff. J

For me Visoflex - it's not thing that you should use with M-system cameras. Idea of rangefinder is in dangerous.

@@RecluseNotes it’s only because I often use lenses wider than the rangefinder shows so therefore I want a viewfinder next rather than using the back of the screen on camera. Not a fan of that experience at all
