I remember the first time I watched this movie as a teen, I was swept away by the dramatic score as well as the enticing story. Every song in the movie was timed just right for the moment, and I was absolutely enchanted. So much so that I went out and bought the album. I still remember it now, ten years later. You totally just brought that all back for me, Jamie. Thanks for the memories!

Loving the Morricone pieces lately - his music plays such an elemental part of Leone's films and works so well with the stories, acting, and dialogue, just hearing you play these pieces so masterfully makes me feel the movie and see the scenes in my head. What a beautiful composition Jamie beautifully executed. I really love Spanish style guitar it's a unique and specialized sound. The only odd thing I find is these songs from those movies are all done in Spanish styles. While the movies they came from are known as Spaghetti Westerns all made in Italy by a Italian director. Then starred iconic American Actors just an odd piece of trivia. Strange mix of culture but the movies are so good they will live on for ever along with the iconic music.

Don’t feel bad, I love the movie and as soon as I saw the title of this piece I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know what it was, but as soon as I saw GB&U and heard it I recognized it immediately. It’s great movie though, Spaghetti Western. The movie basically revolves around three men trying to find buried gold, I’ll just leave it at that, so as not to spoil it.

@@appalachiangunman9589 Yeah, for a lot of people, the spaghetti westerns are what they think of when they hear westerns. I am a bit of a movie nerd. But there aren't many people that remember the the old Sam Peckinpah or John Huston movies.

Thank you again, Jamie, for this pure moment of acoustic happiness! I always loved this piece by Ennio Morricone. Best known for his long and fruitful collaboration with the filmmaker Sergio Leone, Ennio Morricone nevertheless has in his inventory many works all as diverse as each other. I even remember that Metallica played a recording of this Morricone piece at the opening of one of their shows at the Festival d'été de Québec a few years ago. The atmosphere was simply incredible! This interpretation, as well as the transcription of it, deserves full recognition. Once again, thank you for sharing this (too short) moment of musical happiness. I just finished listening to it, and I want to hear it again. What I will do, with great pleasure, in the seconds that follow. This «ecstasy of gold» might as well be called the ecstasy of listening to excellent music in excellent company.
