We have the same cucumbers and tomatoes in India as well and we also eat them with meal as salad 😊 And the tandoori roti and the sabzi and the pulav And we also eat most of our food with hands only (including rice). Using forks and knife is very western style. Eating with hands allows you to consume food at right temperature and flavour. If it is too hot or cold, it’s not good for our body. Same way if it is too spicy or too sweet, that is also not good for our body and the traditional culture tells to use what dear God has given us to identify the right measures of our food

@@heidiheidi0yes but (probably because of the temperature or the soil itself) it tastes really different in different parts of the world. Same thing with every agricultural product. Scandinavia is not famous for its freshly grown sun-ripened vegetables like Mediterranean countries does but also I’m not enjoying the Salmon we caught here like I do that is imported from Norway 😅
@Skdjjddhhd6 ай бұрын
In Azerbaijan and in Turkiye (we have quite similar cuisines and habits) eating with hands is not that common actually. Like, yes, we eat wraps and sandwiches or some fruits with our hands (like most of the western countries do) but I never saw someone eat rice with fingers. Every country has its own eating etiquette and eating with hands is not something we love here. In casual occasions we do prefer spoon over fork and we rarely use knife though.

Hi Jamila! I absolutely loved your video on Azerbaijani etiquette. Your detailed insights and beautiful presentation made me appreciate the richness of your heritage even more. By the way, I noticed a small error where you referred to "naan" as "naan bread." In India, it's simply called "naan" since the word itself means bread, so "naan bread" is a bit redundant. Otherwise, your content was perfect! Keep up the fantastic work!
