Virtual Insanity is insanely popular, and rightfully so. But this right here, made in 2010, is almost as good as peak 90s Jamiroquai. And it's crazy that Virtual Insanity and Cosmic Girl have like 1000 times the views of this underrated piece.

Jamiroquai is a master song writer. Sure would be nice is more people would learn their way around the circle of fifths the way that he has, so they have the tools to create chord progressions that capture ones attention both intellectually and emotionally. The reason so many young people have gravitated towards the music of the 70's and 80's has much to do with the gratifying effect of music created by those who possess the basics of Western music theory as represented in the Circle of 5ths. Jamiroquai knew this early in his career. Instead we have a lot of stuff that rarely ventures beyond a simple triad based on the first note of a 12 tone scale. Where is the tension, the suspension, the extended chords that capture our attention, and the gratifying resolutions that give you chills? For Jamiroquai, these things are second nature. It didn't come to him through osmosis. Long ago, he took the time to educate himself on the nature of chords, their extensions, their relationships and the endless ways they can be combined and applied creatively. His music has been a treasured part of my life for many years and will continue to be for many more.

Don't kick me when you know I'm down baby I've got my reasons But you're cherry picking love Grenades Throwing them at me again Don't let me see you with a sad face Don't wanna see ya Smashing up all those dreams That's the way it's always been All good In the hood tonight Did I forget to mention A little bit of tension makes the world Alright (Makes the world alright) And there's some pain You can't do without That's the pain you're tasting When you started walking out Ooh mercy mercy It's a hard game When love is war And war will never be the answer I feel that rage again This is the storm You love to ride on Your face s thunder Tears are falling down like rain On my window pane (Keep on sayin it) All good (all good in the hood tonight) In the hood tonight (all good in the Hood tonight) Did I forget to mention A little bit of tension makes the World alright And there's some pain You can't do without That's the pain you're tasting When you started walking out Walking out on me yeh, walkin out Walking out on me yeh, walkin out Walking out on me yeh, walkin out All good (all good in the hood tonight) In the hood tonight (it's good in the Hood tonight) Did I forget to mention A little bit of tension makes the World alright And there's some pain You can't do without That's the pain you're tasting When you started walking out Walking out on me yeh, walkin out Walking out on me yeh, walkin out Walking out on me yeh, walkin out
