Believe it or not i met Jay Kay late one night at a petrol station on the outskirts of London, he pulled up behind us in a stretch limo, a classic merc. He was a bit tipsy and came over to our car and shook my hand and chatted with me for 5 minutes, enthusiastically complimenting our car, a 1972 VW beetle, bright orange with colour coded alloys. It was a very well looked after example. A few nights later my then girlfriend fell asleep at the wheel and we stacked it into the central barrier. Thankfully it was late at night and other than my nose being broken on the glove box nobody was hurt. The car was a write off. The night we met him he was on his way back from presenting the Brit Awards. Must have been around 2003. He was really nice, friendly and down to earth. His bodyguard/driver was too. Of course once he'd left we realised we had a camera with us and i'm sure he would have let us take a picture with him in front of our cars.
