Well the broader genre would be deep house. But it seems as if nu-jazz has rather evolved into a subgenre of deep-house. The two have become deeply associated. As for the beat, I wouldn't describe it as disco-house, it isn't as swing-typed as the stuff commonly referred to as disco-house.

@egyptianminor Actually the original does not have that much funk in it whatso ever to begin with, its acid jazz. But i do agree with you that he did change it to a point where it became unrecognizable, which in itself isn't a bad thing...but as a fan of the original version can be slightly underwhelming. Because lets be honest the vinyl original version is indeed without no doubt better, but i still do enjoy his version of it and i credit him for mixing such a great track xD
