I just learned how the effect of the sliding floor was done. Learning that it's actually the walls that are moving makes this video that much more impressive to me. His body language especially sells the illusion, making it even better. This video is fantastically done!
@ЯрославЯщенко-щ1э7 күн бұрын
Do you have some backstage video link? Because firstly i thought that it just full edit. Later i start thinking that it seems like floor is really moving (i noticed that walls have gaps in bottom) and his balancing movement tells me that it is real movement. But i can`t understand how they move each chair separately, i assume some spikes in floor that fixate individual chair. But moving walls seems possible way, and i noticed that some hooks can be in walls (there holes in tiles), but it seems more difficult and in some moments he moves similar to when floor start moving and he just try to stand still. For me it just more plausible that it is floor that moving, and chair fixed by spike-hook in the walls
@forceawakens44496 күн бұрын

For anyone wondering how this all actually worked: The original plan was to have the floor move, but the producer had the math done, cost of the floor movement system was around 288,000 dollars. So! they came up with the idea that ended up being used to save cost: The whole room is actually on wheels as the crew behind the video push it around to give the illusion of a moving floor. The furniture also is bolted to the wall until it is time for it to move away from the wall, in which case a crew member quickly unbolts it. Since the camera is attached to a wall you can see small shakes whenever the room starts moving. Bugs and bird were added in post, as well as stage direction marks being edited out. Song was also post editing, he doesn't start speaking until around the 4th word in the song. One final thing: The illusion of the room moving is given away if you have a sharp enough eye to notice during the narrow hallway part, as the others leave the set the walls begin to shake a little. Really interesting how they managed to do all this!

It’s a good song, but it’s not a prediction, it was just a good assumption.

@@revilno idk how it's possible to be so wrong in one comment. computers existed in the 40s, yes, however they were the size of an entire room, and could only do what would now be considered extremely basic calculations. robots did not exist, animatronics did. ai did not exist whatsoever and i don't even know how or where you pulled that one out of your ass from. games consolses didn't exist before the 60s, the first video game ever made was a one-off project created IN the 60s. and phones actually did exist 100 years ago lol. i agree with your sentiment, people have always been wary of new technology, but wtf are you even talking about?
