Lyrics:
Yeah, you know they're gonna bring it down now
They're gone wreck it down here
Something's come to rob me, and I can't get my head
I get nervous in the New York City Streets, where my legacy treads
I know I've been around standin' in the shadows, far from Humans with Guns,
But now It's too late, there's no escape, from what they have done
Come On!
I'm Going Deeper Underground
There's too much panic in this Town
I'm Going Deeper Underground
There's too much panic in this Town
I'm Going Deeper Underground
Well I got to go deeper, got to go much deeper, yeah
huh, hey
They're gonna wreck it down here
hey, yeah
They're gonna bring it down yah
Some people with a packet full of money, and an affel of hate
Take out pleasure in destruction of-eh everything, that they try to create
Somebody tell them why the zone man caan only tempering touch
Heaven Heaven where the badder mamma thinking chew, and now it's too much

This song deserved so much better than to be attached to a stinker of a movie. It also makes me think that Jay Kay could write a pretty good film score. I was such a huge fan back then and then kind of moved into different kinds of music but coming back to Jamiroquai reminders me of why I was a huge fan in the first place. And it’s as good now as it was then. It hasn’t aged at all.

If Michael Jackson made this song, it would be regarded as an instant classic, up there with the best he's done. But as its Jamiroquai it's just seen as "oh that song from godzilla" such a shame, this, seven days in sunny June and feels just like it should very under appreciated

@35milesoflead
@35milesoflead 3 жыл бұрын
@@NitroSL95 I think that it's more of a departure from what we knew of JK at the time. It's not "ya typical Jamiroquia" track, and if this is your only exposure to them and didn't like it, then you would be mistaken about what make Jamiroquia unique and miss out. It's still a PHAT track - a choo-choo-tune! But to your point about "this is the tune for Godzilla", I don't think movies have hits like this anymore. Like "You could be mine" pretty much encapsulates Terminator 2. It's hard not to hear that and think - Arnie on a Harley jumping off a bridge, landing that jump in an L.A. storm drain.

I think the production process and how they did it might be a great story. I can see that he is walking on a bluescreen with inbuild prop cars etc, sometimes there are miniatures (like Heli in the background), sometimes retro CGI. But there is an absolute perfection in the timing and composition, most of the time nothing is out of it's place, like his feets are always hitting backseats. AMAZING.

I had this on a mixtape I made by recording off the radio (the pinnacle of piracy circa the late '90s). Subjected my poor family to a car trip across Scotland with this song and Three Lions on a near constant loop for literally hours and hours. Haven't heard it since then, but listening to it now brought that holiday and my obsession with this song all flooding back! Ah, memories.

They don't even make sets like this anymore for film, back in the 90's the producers thought "hey, we have this 3 million dollar scene shot, let's just toss it to that guy who's name we can't pronounce."
