"The Dark" was released in 1986. You must mean the self titled album released in 1984 which consisted of the songs Beyond The Black, Metal Church, Merciless Onslaught, Gods of Wrath, Hitman, In The Blood, Nightmare, Battalions and a cover of Deep Purple's Highway Star.

It's a trip metal was so young in the 80 s everyone hundreds of bands full of hope and talent then like a light switch twas gone now I don't know what to say except for "let's go see Taylor Swift" yea that shit gets rammed down our throats fuck I remember driving all the way across town to a record shop to buy imported music like King Diamond all kinds of shit now music is what ever they can sell in mass corporate quantity.

stevemtc1 and you know what. Theres no excitement anymore. You dont go to record stores anymore. Now snippets are on you tube when something new comes out. It sucks. I would rather take my chance. Like back then. Most of the time you would get good stuff. Metal was fresh and no one was a clone. Everyone was finding their own sound.

Man, I saw this Metal Church lineup at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA in 1985. The bands were Slayer, Overkill, Metal Church, D.R.I. and Bl’ast! I probably paid $12 for the ticket! Great show! Metal Church kicked ass!

My first time seeing Metal Church live was when they opened for Metallica on the Master of Puppets tour, in Nurnberg Germany. Been a fan ever since. The true metal of the 80's isn't about the big hair and glam crap in LA. Hardcore fans remember the music that came out of the Bay Area of SF. Bands like Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Megadeth, Metal Church and Metallica were just a few of the pioneers of today's metal. Never forget your roots. Embrace the pioneers.
